Preds #4 Pick

This is of course IF Drouin, Barkov & Mackinnon are off the board ... What high-end young player could the Preds get for this draft pick ? ... I'm looking at you Edmonton

For Jones? I really dunno if the Oilers would send one of the young guys for it - it'd most likely have to be a combo of not the top 5, but some younger vets and draft picks - I really can't see them dismantling any of the top picks or Eberle... yet

Draft Jones. If there is one team that will properly develop Jones into an All-Star stud, it's Nashville. If you need to, trade him for a stud #1C in a few years. He'll be as valuable as Pietrangelo, get you almost any center you want.

The way I see it, the Preds are in a perfect place. They can just draft whichever of Drouin, Barkov, and Jones falls to them.

2010 Playoffs we had Suter, Weber, Hamhuis, etc and took the Hawks to 6 games and got outscored ... 17 - 15 ... we had to blowouts in that series both of 4-1 margins ... series really wasn't that close... this is our one chance to get that franchise/game changing forward and from the reports I've heard (Tampa buying out Vinny) (probably going with Barkov) Colorado (may be a smoke screen) wanting Mackinnon, I just have a sick feeling that Jones is going to drop to us.

Really really should talk with Tampa about swapping 1sts - the cost shouldn't be too bad and it'll guarantee one of the "big 3" forwards for the Preds. Tampa should also still be okay with picking between Jones or Nisch @ 4.

Agree. Part of the trade is taking Malone and his cap hit and passing something back their way.

Back on topic, I seem to be in the minority but I'm happy to take the rumored offer of Flames 3 first rounders for Jones.

Oh and other than a high end talent in the last three drafts, "young" isn't young enough for me to give up this pick.

Islanders will give you El Nino and a 2014 first round pick.

pretty easily - nino is not worth the 5th overall billing he was taken at and the islanders pick next year could end being outside the top 15 if they make the playoffs again. So really not a great offer. even if the isles threw in their 2013 pick (at 15) i'm not sure i'd take still if i was nashville - now strome is another question!

Whatever you can get for him now it'll pale in comparison to what you can get for him in 3-4 years.

Seriously why the angst? Jones is phenomenal. Or, alternatively, just draft Lindholm or Nichushkin, who are barely a step down.

teams like CBJ, CGY, TOR, PHI will push hard to move up. All need a top centre prospect.

Nino will never be the face of the Islanders. Tavares is there for the long haul. I doubt Nino makes the roster next year. Definitely a good trade option.

I hope we don't trade the pick regardless who gets taken 1-3, but if Barkov is still around at #4, no way in hell the Preds are trading the pick.

It all depends on how Edmonton values rnh, yak, and jones. Hall is untouchable.

Rnh for jones wouldn't be too outlandish if Edmonton feels jones is the bpa in this draft. Edmonton would have to think jones was going to be a consistent Norris candidate though.

I doubt he's there anyway. Nashville will be very happy with barkov or drouin.
