(2nd and Musil? For Coburn?)
This may be the worst serious proposal I've ever seen.

Is it too much to ask for MPS, or are the Oilers more interested in moving that 7th pick to get the immediate help versus removing players from their roster.

5th or 7th pick. You need immediate help we need to rebuild the farm.

MPS+ would definitely be a better take from you guys, likely MPS + one of our blue chip D prospects, unlikely Klef though.

There's likely no chance the Oilers would move Klefbom for Coburn.

My personal guess would be based around a 2nd, but I'm always happy to be wrong.

I don't see why (with this draft class) the flyers wouldn't just accept either of those picks straight up for Coburn. If there is an addition I certainly wouldn't expect it to be Murphy from Carolina...

MPS is tough to give up. If we trade him, it's going to come back to bite us for sure.

I'm not sure how true these rumors are but if they are true, it's a real head scratcher for Philly to trade Coburn. Why re-sign Timonen and then sign Streit only to get rid of Coburn.

A 2nd isn't likely to get us to move Coburn, we aren't in any cap problems this season after buying out Bryz and Briere. I'd rather just keep Coburn at that point, tbh.

If we could get the 5th or 7th and keep the 11th and only lose Coburn, I would probably have multiple heart attacks.

If the draft goes in a way that has Jones free falling to #5 like for example:
MacKinnon
Drouin
Nichushkin
Barkov
..

Coburn
#11
#41

for

#5

But I think that Rutherford would just keep Jones for himself if he lucks into him...

We're giving up quite a bit to move up 6 spots there. I personally wouldn't be interested in giving up that much. We need to rebuild the farm system and prospect pool, we need more picks coming in over us moving up, imo. Although, if this was the case, Rutherford would be nuts to trade that pick. I can't see Jones falling past number 2.

I have a hard time feeling Jones gets past 4, mostly because I only see him there if Drouin and Barkov are taken at 2 and 3 (in either order). If the choice is Seth Jones or Valeri Nichuskin I don't think Nashville is going to risk the Russian factor, despite all the positive things coming out from Nichuskin about wanting to play in the NHL.

That made me laugh pretty good. Coburn + 1st + 2nd to move up 6 spots seems kinda crazy even for Jones who hasn't even played a game yet. Picks are often overvalued tremendously on here, but this draft class might be an exception i guess?

Rutherford said if he had 1st pick it would be Jones, and no discussion about it pretty much.

So than what would work from Edmonton to add to MPS? I'm not overly familiar with their farm system other than Klefbom.

Edm's d prospects rank something like this:

- Klef
- Marincin
- Gernat
- Musil

The last two are still a couple of years away. I wouldn't want to part with the top two, however.

Hard to say, would leave them with picks 41 and 37, possibly being able to move up, but I think they would prefer somebody closer to making an impact.

This. If it was a swap of Coburn for the 5th I do it and then see what it takes to get put into a spot to take Jones.
