Vincent Lecavalier
16 millions/4 years = 4 millions

Ryan O'Byrn
6,6 millions/3 years = 2.2 millions

Anthony Steward
625 000/1 year - 2way

Jean François Jacques
550 000/1 year - 2way

Pacioretty - Lecavalier - Gallagher

Galchenyuk - Eller - Bourque

Neiderreiter - Plekanec - Gionta

Prust - Bournival - Joel Ward

Stewart - Jacques

Tinordi - Subban

Markov - Emelin

Gorges - O'Byrne

Drewski - Boullion

Price
Budaj

I would add size without changing the make up of the team too much. With Stewart & Jacques signed to 2 way deals, we would have a lot of flexibility in bringing AHL guys that are performing well like Dumont, Leblanc, Pateryn and even Blunden and a guy like Plekanec could be our shut down guy along with Prust & Ward when we need it.
Why bring in Anthony Stewart? He's a glorified AHLer. Not useful enough to play top 9 in the NHL and not versatile enough to play a 4th line role(poor defensively, PK, doesn't fight, irregular effort).

Just adding a guy from MTL with a big body and I would only add him if he signs a 2way deal

with the signing of blunden + desharnais + bouillon... looks like Bergevin is "sign your current players, no trades(because says he builds through draft, draft"
so boring...

(by trades I mean real trades not scrap vs scrap)

Having depth down the middle is a great thing and while you need to make a move at some point if you have too many guys at the position, you cant be hasty. Last time we had center depth we had Koivu, Turgeon and Damphousse. We traded Turgeon, Koivu blew out his knee and Damphousses production fell off after that year. Disaster. I know you cant predict injuries but Koivu was just coming on then so it was perhaps pre-mature to pull the trigger. Here, Galchenyuk will be brought on slowly, if Pleks is moved and DD has a duplicate of last year we will be in trouble. If somebody is being moved it would have to be DD for me, though as people have pointed out, the return would be lower, and of course that is for good reason, isn't it ? Center is so important I would rather keep the better player.

The other twitter rumour is that Letang could be had for a 1st round pick, NHL player (with term) and a prospect.

Pick 25, Gorges and Kristo/Leblanc anyone?

Desharnais will be dealt to Dallas, along with one of Montreal's 1st 3 picks, to play with Cole....for a pick...1st or 2nd...depending on who's still available when Dallas is ready to pick!

No Source...just a feeling!

Like I've been saying for weeks, expect pretty much the status quo for the upcoming year.

9 million cap space minus Gorges 3.9 = 12.9million cap space.

Subtract DD at 3.5 million gives us 16.4 million cap space.

Letang at 7million and Vinny at 5million.

Could be done.

1. That's not enough
2. There's no guarantee he'll resign with us
3. 7-8M+ is what he wants and way too much for an offensive defenseman since we already have Subban who is better.

Of course, if you get him on the UFA market and he costs just money I wouldn't mind him. But the price to get him out of Pittsburgh would probably be way too high. I'm not sure he's worth 7M+ per year with his limited defensive abilities.

Letang won't sign in Pittsburgh for 7 mil, why would he sign here for that???

Plus with Subban it makes no sense to go get Letang, would cost a lot(3 good assets) plus take up a big chunk of cap room for a player we already have in Subban(though more wekll rounded).

Why?

Lecavalier we have plenty of cap space if we want him.

I agree with you on point #1. (someone will definitely offer more) but a new contract could be determined and negotiated before hand. And there is no reason why you cant have two offensive dman.

Even if he & PK demand in the 7-8 mill range we have Markov ($5.75) & Gionta ($5.0) coming off the cap; not to mention that cap will be north of $70.0 again next season.

I know im dreaming but locking up PK & Letang long term would be an insane one-two punch.

I actually like watching Letang play, but he's an awful, awful, awful fit with this team, even if you do move Markov.

Exactly. If Subban wasn't here, we should be all over him though. Great defenseman, but not what we need right now.

would anyone do patches + 1st + krysto for drouin? value-wise i think its fair but the only thing that hurts is that drouin isnt the type of forward we need and patches is, drouin has soooooo much upside tho..
i would be happy if we could get a cheap deal done around plekanec+ for nichushkin (if he drops alot)

Once again people don't think before they make proposals.
