Kindl is 26 but has comparable experience because unlike Hawks the Wings hold there prospects hostage for first few years of development (Kids usually have to spend years on farm)

The reason I don't know what the hawks will do is the Frolik deal. There was no reason to give him 2.3 per.

Ok, but the whole point of the system is so that the clubs don't have to pay a 22yo 26yo $$, pretty much regardless of what they've done prior.

They need to continue along on 1 yr deals for a year or 2, and then go long term to wash out a few UFA years.

Demers should be the comparable to Leddy, 1.5-2 on a short deal.

But you cannot be that "small" on the back end woth Keith Leddy and Clendening..plus Leddy cap hit demands mow..even if he is hrld to just a small inctease now on a re-sign..he willbe a big cap headeache later on the third contract..we cannot pay every player $mil plus..and why is Leddy the future anyway..Keith seabrook Hammer and Oduya can be held together for a few years yet plus they meed to re-UP HAMMER..and so if Leddy is only the #5 or #6 dman who cannot prove yet he is ready for higher role and minutes without costing us defensively...then why keep him? IT MAKES NO SENSE..besides IF we did gove him top 2pairing minutes and Pp #1unit amd if he then explodes like Karlsson or Letang offenively Then he will wamt crazu dollars like them..and we are bacl in a dilemma cap hell anyway..No..trade him Now. We will not miss him inserting somebody rlse onto that third pairing for cheap.. Use him as an asset im some deal to get another first and solve some other needs which are not LD but RD or the proverbial search for the 2C long term solution..

This is all about... how much of a discount would you REALLY give us. Don't you want Fro or Bolly to stay? Money isn't everything, winning is.

As far as I'm concerned trade Bolland, Frolik, Brookbank, Carcillo.

By trading Frolik, next season the Chicago Blackhawks will have more cap space for Hjalmarsson and Crawford, who both will be unrestricted free agents.

Bolland - Pirri, Leblanc
Frolik - Morin, Smith
Brookbank - Rozsival, Stanton (Olsen would be a reach at this time)

Bickell would be foolish if he didn't at least see what other teams are willing to offer.

and in today's non-news:

Craig Custance ‏@CraigCustance 5m
Spoke w/Wade Arnott, agent for Viktor Stalberg: "It seems highly likely that Vik will be entering the free agent marketplace."

So ends the Viktor Stalberg era.

A final tally for Viktor Stalberg: 32 career playoff games, 1 career playoff goal

So none of the credit for the improved penalty killing goes to the following Chicago Blackhawks:

Mike Kitchen
Stephane Waite
Corey Crawford
Ray Emery
Duncan Keith
Brent Seabrook
Niklas Hjalmarsson
Johnny Oduya
Marcus Kruger
Jonathan Toews
Marian Hossa

Or the fact that Nick Leddy was completely removed from the penalty killing unit altogether this past season.

Frolik was the premier penalty killer in the league this year

Meanwhile, Brandon Saad may develop into a premier penalty killer next season.

Finding a role and being good at it doesn't mean Frolik was the premiere PKing forward. How do you even quantify that? The PK would have been awful last year, even if Frolik was on it. I'm not denying that Frolik and Kruger (both) being as good as they were this year didn't help the PK improve, but when they go from among the worst to the best, it's hard to pin that on one or two players.

I like Stalberg but I have no problem with him leaving. If he's lucky some team will overpay for him to be a 4th liner.
