Coburn is better than most Flyers fans give him credit for--significantly so if these rumors are close to true.

Coburn for #5? We could get Nichuskin + Ristolainen with the 11th probably. Wow.

I don't discount Coburn at all, but if he's being used to keep the 11, but get the 7, that's tough to turn down. I'm not up for giving him away.

The 7 + 11 plus the extra salary room. DO IT DO IT DO IT!

Just can't believe we could just get Coburn for a 5th, doesn't add up to me. I think we underate Coburn but I don't think he's that valuable, I'd be more inclined to think it was Coburn and the 11th for the 5th but then I'd say that's an overpayment on our behalf.

Someone reported that Dreger said it was a possibility.

Dreger said Homer's not eager to let Coburn go and considers him very valuable to the Flyers.

I don't think it's a buyers market when it comes to Coburn.

If Coburn coud finally be consistent, he could definitely get a top pick

Unless there is video or an actual tweet from Dreger, I think it is bogus. Tsn just had a video up of him and he said nothing about an actual return on Coburn.

In the end though, Im honestly expecting a deal similar to the 2 2nd rounders and MPS for him. Teams want him and Homer doesnt want to give him up. Get the best deal for him.

On that note, I know main board isnt as knowing about our team as we are since we follow them, but there are those saying we wont get a good deal because we are in cap hell. So many people have no idea what they are talking about.

If there is any truth to that 5th overall you have to take it. Two top half 1st rd picks? Sign me up for that. Use Coburn's salary afterwards to pursue guys in free agency to fill the void for a few years.

Exactly. Having a guy like Scuderi or Ference to pair with younger guys coming up would be fine.

Those were exactly the two that came to my mind as far as FA go. Then there is always the possibility the get ballsy and use that space to offer sheet Alex P. however unlikely it may be.

He overrates potential and has a fixation on flashy unproven players.

St. Louis would match pretty much anything.

This! Absolute best case scenario imo, but it sounds like that's too good to be true.

He's got one thing in spades that you just can't teach and teams love to have especially on the back end.....SPEED
