Funny, the team would have missed the playoffs with Gerber in net that year.... and you;re implying that they were strong enough with anybody in net after losing Chara, Hasek and Havlat to roll to the finals.

He took the Pro out of Pro hockey player.

For a while he even took hockey player out of hockey player. He was an ass, and then his antics started effecting his performance as well. He gets a huge raise and then screws things up.

What I can't stand is people defending him.

I agree with you here. He was young but any player who gets drafted in a pro sport must know they can't express themselves the way us normal people (fans) do and conduct themselves in way of an example.

Sure young people who come into a lot of money might be all about the flash, fast cars, best of anything. But they also should realize just how gifted/lucky they are and not take it for granted like other pro athletes.

I just need to point out the fact that seemingly for the first time, me and MAK are in total, 100% agreement about something on the Trade Board, and this seems like the right place to do it? Maybe? I have no idea.

I feel like we need to cut a cake or something to celebrate. It's a big day for us.

****ing STATS man.

STATS. THE STATS ARE ALL RIGHT HERE.

The +/- QuolComp Ration / Team in the final 4.445 minutes of overtime games CLEARLY DEMONSTRATE A PLAYERS ABILITY.

I respect what he did after he left here. Coming back from hip surgery, not sure if he'd ever play again. No small feat. Probably forced him to grow up a little.

If you base who you respect on such asinine judgements, I'm pretty glad to not have your respect.

On the topic of Colorado, I don't think selecting Mackinnon is a bad choice at all. They have a very impressive, young offense right now and would be stacked with good centres:

- Duchene
- ROR
- Stastny
- Mackinnon

It will take a longer period of time for Jones to reach his full potential than Mackinnon, so why not select the player who will bloom more quickly? In the meantime, one of Stastny or ROR can be traded for an already established #3 defenseman and immediately give them a better defense with Johnson, [#3 defenseman], Barrie, Hunwick, and whomever.

In short, Mackinnon is a reasonable choice because:
a) Defensemen are more unpredictable in the draft than forwards
b) Mackinnon will be a cheap 3C (making a more expensive centre expendable)
c) The extra centre can be dealt for immediate defensive help

Agreed. Don't care for the guy after the antics here, but he had an easy way out with that hip injury. He didn't take it and worked hit butt off for a few years just to get back into the league.

Why do people take professional athlete's behaviour so personally?

It's like Emery somehow offended you by being late at practice or getting pulled over or something

Must be jealousy or some other messed up emotion
