RMC announces 2 more forwards to their 2013-2014 roster

Luc Ramey (Toronto, ON) comes to the Paladins after completing a 3 year junior career in the Maritime Hockey League with the Bridgewater Lumberjacks. Ramey finished the 2012-2013 season 4th in scoring for his team.

Jake Bullen (Halifax, NS) brings high offence to the Paladins roster. The ex-captain of the Bridgewater Lumberjacks last played junior in the 2011-2012 season, scoring 33 goals and 68 points.

Confirmed: http://www.trurodaily.com/Sports/201...Golden-Hawks/1

I am excited about this addition. He has good size (listed as 6'0, 210 pounds on the QMJHL site) and is a left handed shot, a minority among Laurier forwards. His QMJHL production was very promising (28 points in 35 games) and he won the scoring title in the MHL with 88 points (the next highest scorer on his team had 44). He will definitely slot right into Laurier's top 6, and will likely see first unit power play time.

Overall, this has been one of the strongest classes I have seen since I started following Laurier hockey, and definitely the strongest I have seen up front.

However, with 7 forwards coming in that I know of, and 14 on last years' roster with only 1 graduating forward, I am assuming that a somewhat sizable contingent of forwards may be departing the program early, as has been the case in the past 3-4 years. I am hoping most of the core forwards return, but I really do not know. Due to the turnover, Laurier seems to have recurring high number recruiting classes and a large portion of their team made up of first year players.

Not recruiting news, but the UQTR Patriotes will need a new coach. Gilles Bouchard, who jumped from midget AAA to the CIS last year, will be named the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies head coach next week.

Big loss, especially as recruiting has been good, but not great. Plus, there's a couple of players, including both goalkeepers, who are leaning towards the LNAH.

Good list so far however Cody Alcock and Stephen Silas haven't committed to Lakehead yet. Alcock is down to Lakehead and St. Marys. Silas is down to Lakehead and Acadia.

Dan Gibb Prince George has committed to Calgary

Josh Dominques- Transfer from St Marys (F- Masters), Lucas Froese (Melville Millionaires (F), Matthew Andreacchi (F), Kevin Woodyatt (Melville Millionaires D have committed to Ryerson

Ironic that the STU Pids and the Evil Monkeys trail the nation in recruits announced to date.

Of equal interest would be a list of those departed who still have eligibility remaining.

Alberga I think will be a big pickup for Ryerson. This year he was used to play a checking/PK role and was heavily relied upon, but showed some offense the prior year, picking up 35 points with Sarnia, and plays an important position (center).

Also per twitter, I believe Keith Hamilton - Okotoks (AJHL) is headed to Guelph.

He also played in the BCHL, as well as the WHL with Portland, and for a full year as the starter for the Victoria Royals. Despite substantial major junior experience, he was actually not the starting goaltender for Okotoks playoff run in the AJHL playoffs.

I didn't think that Alberta had that many graduating players? no?

Any word on Brandon Hynes still being committed to UNB?

They had a handful of 5th years last year, and a crap-load of 4th years. One never knows if those 4th years will be getting a degree and leaving campus. That's why the interesting thing is to see who's back.

I have never heard of Hynes being committed to UNB or anywhere else. He could end up pro or anywhere in CIS yet.

UNB would have max one spot remaining if that, with a solid recruiting crop...that said until they are in uniform in September.....

For the time being he's attending the Phoenix Coyotes development camp.

http://www.theguardian.pe.ca/Sports/...lopment-camp/1

The player I'm curious about is Zach O'Brien who played with Bathurst last year.

Cody Alcock has officially committed to lakehead.
http://www.thunderwolveshockey.com/h...es.asp?id=1697

Lakehead still needs at least 1 defenceman possibly 4 more forwards and a goalie so they are a long way from done. I have heard via twitter that they have been in talks with Brandon glover who played for Seattle last year.

In recruiting news of a different kind, Waterloo F Justin Larson will attend the Washington Capitals dev camp as a free agent invitee. Full story: http://www.varsity.uwaterloo.ca/news...704132142.aspx

Arguably the best player in the CIS last season. I am sure he will make an impression.

Of course it would be bad news for the Warriors if he leaves early.

Would be a big loss indeed, but it will be interesting what transpires if the Caps are interested immediately - they have told Larson that they're prepared to invite him to rookie camp and full camp as well, but Larson is also an extremely strong student with Law school aspirations.

Regardless if he signs a deal or not, still great for the program as a whole.

Brandon has stated that UNB is really a back up option. His goal is obviously to play pro, and seeing how he's playing in a rec ball hockey league I'm doubtful hes got teams knocking on his door. See if I can find the interview

Queen's is busy at it with recruits, adding Drumheller Dragons forward Harry Hendrix and Hamilton Red Wing forward Ben Walsh. Coach Gibson wasn't losing very many players to begin with so it will be interesting what he does. He told the media in Kingston that he dosen't want to stand pat and be in the bottom half of the OUA, that he wants to compete.

UNB fans I wouldn't expect Hynes in the lineup, just had a conversation and it looks like he's in talks with an NHL camp as well as some in Europe, looks like hes going for the cash now > education
