Dream would be:

-Schneider for 7th overall + Gagner.

Barkov (7th) + Shinkaruk (24th - I have a gut feeling he could be a faller) + Tambellini (85).

Super dream world involves us completing the above then also trading Ballard + Booth for a pair of 2nds and getting Zykov + Gauthier) then signing Lecavalier with some of the freed up cap space.

More likely: We trade our 1st along with Luongo to get rid of him and just go home forfeiting our remaining picks in protest of the CBA changes.

I really have a hard time believe that this time tomorrow Edler and Schneider aren't on this team

Ditto but you never know.

I'd be quite shocked if Luongo and Schneider are both on the Canucks after tomorrow though...

I really hope not but I won't be surprised if Gillis does nothing and says there is a process or whatever he said today. Also trading Edler and Schneider might be for the best but Idk about Edler.

I wonder if we could pry Justin Schultz in a Schneider trade?

J. Schultz and the 7th overall for Schneider

Simmons and the 11th for Edler

That makes trading Edler easier to swallow

JONES OR BUST

If Gillis doesn't end up trading Loungo, Booth, and MayRay Rights for Crosby and Letang, I'm no longer a fan of the Canucks.

Next, he should trade our next 10 years of 7th Round Picks for the first 10 picks of the First Round.

We also should be given unlimited cap space for our use only by the league due to the fact that we have yet to win a Cup.

Then sign Lecavalier, Horton, and any player worth anything to 2 year deals. Win the Cup, trade them for next years first 15 picks.

/end sarcasm

I'm just hoping we get a future scoring leader in this years draft. Another Kesler would be perfect.

edler gets shipped for offensive help. schiender goes... or stays. luongo dunno. return might not be pretty but at least they get out of his contract or maybe keep half of it.

I think I like Rychel the most out of the players projected to go around 24. Theodore is also on my radar. A bit risky, but Petan intrigues the hell out of me. I know he's small and had great teammates to dish the puck to, but 120 points in his draft year is just insane. I haven't read much on players projected to go in the early 2nd, so there might be a player or two there that catches my eye as I read on.

How realistic do you guys think the chances of Curtis Lazar falling to us are?

Lazar has really good skill, had a poor start to the season but finished it off pretty good. I think he's shown that he has the skill to be a top player in the NHL but he just has consistency issues.

Also, realistically I want to see Josh Morrissey in a canucks jersey as the 24th pick

Tomorrow will be a great and exciting day! Can't wait to see my boy Nathan MacKinnon drafted and then to see what Gillis does with the Canucks. Give me Josh Morrissey GMMG

74 posts in over 10 years, quiet observer is an understatement

Not expecting much, is we can move up in the draft, great, if not, Pulock, Petan, Rychel, Klimchuk are some prospects i like in the 20-25 range

Weeks ago Gillis said he plans on being active at the draft because his sign free agents or trade picks at the deadline philosophy hasn't worked out...

Well, MG...today is your day.

Whatcha gonna do?

He must be so uncomfortable being forced to make a decision practically on the spot, totally out of his element.

Fight the fear and pull the damn trigger!

I am very excited as well. Really hope someone falls to us at 24, and we don't have to trade down.

I am prepared for the usual lack of Canuck trades when it comes to the draft, but maybe, just maybe, we can move up..

What do you guys think about trading for an early 2nd rounder and picking up Jordan Subban?

Waste of assets. If you really want Subban then trade for late 2nd or early 3rd and draft him there. If he's not there at that point then it's no big loss because drafting him any earlier is a complete waste.

Guys, if Gillis doesn't drop his balls and trade Edler + Schneider + 1st for Crosby I'm quitting on the team forever

TSN will stay on air for entire duration of draft but from rounds 3 thru 7 will talk more about team/league happenings than actual picks.

Both of those trades are outrageous wins for the Canucks, you're completely overvaluing both Edler & Schneider.

On the topic of draftees, a guy that I'm really liking is Darnell Nurse.

Lazar and Morrissey are both WHLers, which is a league that doesn't exist in the Canucks' eyes.

Don't count on it.
