But NYI is like the foul ball you hit when you already have two strikes against: meaningless.

You think that whatever Western teams on the Sharks' path would be as meaningless as NYI? If they have significant bases, perhaps we can turn that to offset whatever the Leafs and the Bruins can put up against us.

But it's really NYI that caused us to lose last year.

Maybe, I don't know. IIRC: Habs, Leafs and Bruins are the three big fanbases around here. Just by sheer numbers, it would offset most fanbases.

Then again, it means that neither the Leafs or Bruins can win the Waffle cup! Let's not kid ourselves, we know we would vote against the Bruins if it came to that.

Ya, just got my vote in. Roy is leading.

I try to be honest at all times and take any bias out of the way but man, the competition is just not there this year. Maybe it's because of the shortened season. Given more time, some great GDT could have been made. I don't know.

But yeah, poutine all the way. That GDT was simply hilarious!

The facts are that NYI seems to care more about the Waffle Cup than the Leafs or the Bruins ever did; by that logic, there would be no reason for the Leafs, other than a lackluster GDT, to be eliminated in the first round.

True, NYI board produces the GDTs. And people are still being relatively honest in voting. They won't vote for a crappy GDT just because it's from their board, for sure. But they may vote against the Habs all other things considered (i.e. say two equally matched GDT's).

In all honesty, that NYI GDT in the waffle cup is nice and the text if funny. Problem is, I could easily do the shopping/text for NYI's GDT, not for the poutine GDT!

We still have 2 days to show NYI who is the boss...

BUT it's because the Leafs simply didn't measure up to even NYI's standard that they lost in the first round.

Detroit seems to have surged in the past hours; perhaps NYI will be out of play in two days...

But who's the more fearsome opponent between Detroit and NYI?

The Dead Wings are going all-out on the onset... this is what they said about how they approached the ECF:

Quote:
The Montreal Canadiens have fans EVERYWHERE, so we have to muster every resource available in all of Red Wings fandom to stand a chance.
Now... go out there and vote for Roy Munson!

Guys.... 16 to 9

After finishing first in the first 2 rounds, we're choking in the ECF

The Red Wings are going to be massacred in the Waffle Cup Final if they somehow won that round. I can't see how the Red Wings can defeat the Sharks on their GDT merits alone.

We are the only ones in the East that can stand any chance whatsoever against the Sharks.
