Don't see how the Seguin deals benefits the Flyers in anyway. Flyers give up both Schenns for two players that have yet to fully prove themselves in the league and their 11th overall?
Living in Mass, I see a lot of the Bruins (including game 6 at the Garden). Someone I don't see is Seguin. He' invisible out there and is one of the easiest players to bump off the puck.
BSchenn is not proven either. LSchenn needs to show he is consistent season to season too.
I guess 67 points from Seguin in his 2nd season in the league means he has shown less than either Schenn so far. Hamilton is more developed than any d-man the Flyers could get with the 11th overall. The overrating by fans, including Flyers fans, for their own players continues.
That is a crazy amount for a 21 year old even if he did have 29 goals and 67 points a couple seasons ago.
I couldn't believe it when I seen it. Not sure how I missed it when he signed. What happened to earning your stripes? 29/67 is sweet and all, but jesus thats not Crosby numbers. Too much too soon IMO. I guess it was a get it in before the lockout happens contract, which is why we have lockouts in the firet place. Jesus no wonder why they wouldn't mind trading him.
For me, it could be the fact I undervalue every Bruins player haha. I'd much rather stick with B. Schenn since he can do everything Seguin can and more.
That is fair. Everyone has their own opinions. I just think Seguin can take over a game with his speed and skill. I see future superstar all over him. I also think Hamilton will become a legit #1 d-man as well.
I said it on the main boards, but I'll repeat it here. Seguin strikes me as a guy who's production level will never meet his talent level. Talent-wise, he should be a perennial 90 point , but I don't think he ever gets there. He's a lot like JVR in the sense that you'll always come away underwhelmed by his production, despite the fact he can dazzle you occasionally with pure skill.
