Although my 2nd choice would be Monahan.
Any one of those three and I'd be happy.

I dont know if thats true or not as I didn't follow the combine closely at all, but if you can get a sure commitment from him it is an easy easy decision for me, he is every we need, hes a star in the making, that skillset puts him in a level with Barkov and the others IMO, but its the extra stuff that puts him in this secondary spot.

Monahan is interesting though and my 2nd choice for sure.

If they don't move up/down and everything falls as predicted, I'm hoping for Hartman. Has well-rounded tools, great competitor and above average hockey IQ...

No Nichushkin please, we have zero Russians to entice him over and make him feel welcome. Also, there's just something about him that screams Radulov Part 2 to me.

Add to that, he's also apparently on record as stating its NHL or bust for him. He will not play in the AHL. Not the right kind of attitude, IMO. If we had multiple firsts I might take the chance.

I hope the teams don't thank everyone and congratulate the hawks. just get all the gms to sign a card and give it to bowman. you should also not thank new jersey for the simple fact its responsible for jersey shore. hopefully the draft goes quicker than usual.

Sharks being linked to Clutterbuck and Kennedy in trade talks at the draft. Really seems like they have been trying to replace Jamie McGinn ever since they gave him away.

Apparently he may have worded his answer poorly. He has a KHL contract which includes an out-clause for playing in the NHL, so he has no choice. He cant play in the CHL/AHL even if he wanted to.

Here's a thought. Poile is on record of saying he would love to take Jones. I would if we could work out a deal with Nashville's pick coming back. Drouin/Barkov and Nichushkin would be phenomenal, assuming we trade Schneider.

Wouldn't be a draft without the sharks and wild making a deal

I would be very happy with Hartman. From all accounts, he is a winner who will do anything to do so. We need more competitors on this team.

I would be eternally grateful for any third-party streams you guys can post when draft time comes around. (I can't stream from TSN's site directly due to being in the US and using a proxy makes video too laggy).

I'm probably not the first to ask, nor will I be the last...

Can I watch the draft coverage on line?

If so it would be convenient if someone put some links up here and a mod put that posts # in the thread title... y'know, to avoid annoying guys like me who keep asking for links without actually searching for themselves.

Don't hold me to this, but I think NHL.com might be streaming TSN's feed on their website for Americans, they have done it in the past.

But I'll look for streams once it gets closer to noon. Most sites don't post streams until ~30 mins before they start.

You might also want to brace yourself for people extending hopes and prayers for Calgary, praising first responders at the Boston Marathon, and probably even hurricane Sandy references since they're in Jersey. Just be glad it's not the NFL draft where every 10 picks they march out a bunch of servicemen and women and chant USA for five minutes.

don't have access to a TV with TSN. Anyone know if TSN or anyone else is streaming the draft?

Edit: nevermind, just saw this has already been discussed

Almost lost in all the trade rumours is the excitement of who we are going to take at 24 today.

Time for some *official* predictions:

Player I expect to take: Rychel
Player who isn't expected to be there that we take: Wennberg
Player I wouldn't be surprised if we took: Hartman
Player that I might be the only one happy if we took: Klimchuk or Theodore
Player I will moan and groan the most if we took: Gauthier

Can't wait to look back on this in a couple hours.

Yes, it is being lost in the shuffle.

I'm high on Klimchuk. I hope they get a crack at Erne, Zykov or Lazar. Odds are though, that I think a Dman might be the BPA after all is said and done.
