Want to go down with their ship, I suppose. After last year and this year in the playoffs, they should look to move him.

Agreed. Could get a decent package out of EDM I would imagine. Although other teams are aware that he's a head case at times too.

wow, Schneider to New Jersey to succeed Fatso. Good move by the Devils there to secure themselves a potential goalie to take them past the Fatso Era.

Haha Luongo is the unhappiest man in Vancouver right now.... Thought he would be bought out or traded and now he's stuck there with Torts as his coach. : )

At the draft they are talking about how much pressure there is going to be on him now that Schneider is gone and he's the #1 again.

Poor Canucks fans.

What's so horrible about the Debbies getting Schneider? They should be thinking about rebuilding and they just gave up the number 9 pick in the draft for a guy that's not going to be nearly as good as Marty has been over the years.

This.

Schneider is good, but not worth a top ten pick.

Man the Vancouver GM created the biggest s***-storm by these off-season moves - hiring a fiery coach and retaining a goaltender who does not want to be there. What a mess.

Grab the popcorn.

They reported Luongo was 'shocked' when the Vancouver GM traveled to his house and informed him that he's being retained. Refusing interview(s) at this time.

If you think an established NHL goaltender isnt worth a top 10 pick, then I think youre overvaluing a top 10 pick

Oh snap, thanks for the correction.

I wonder if Luongo was thinking for a few brief moments - "Wow he came all the way here to inform me of my buyout?"

Then his jaw dropped.

Anyone else surprised that both Schneider and Bernier got traded and the Flyers didn't land either one? I would have assumed they would have been pursuing both goaltenders. What's left for them? To pursue an unlikely deal with Buffalo for Miller?

There's no way they will be competitive next year with Mason.

Yeah, not sure why people think a #9 pick is a lock to be a #1 anything.

I'd say a guy who hasn't played nearly enough games in a single season to be considered a good starter isn't worth what the Devs left on the board at 9.

I just never thought Schneider was as good as the Canadian media made him out to be.
