If Jones falls, as Poile stated, we'll take him at #4 because that's his #1 on the board. However, our defense is anchored by Weber, and a newly signed Josi and Klein. We need offense. Giving up both Drouin/Barkov and Forsberg for the Preds is terrible.

If Florida doesn't take jones Tampa will ... They need a right handed dman badly ... Imagine hedman with jones wow it would be a solit pairing for the next decade at least !

My belief Is that Colorado will take mackinnon , Florida will grab Drouin or barkov since they have a pretty good d core with kulikov and gud . Florida needs more of an other superstar to play with huberdeau then a jones ! Jones will go to Tampa , barkov to Nashville since they really need help up front , I'm pretty sure carolina will drop down to like 7 or 8 overall to grab ristolainen

I wouldn't trade Matthias in that deal.

Bergenheim and Matthias are AT BEST 3rd-liners with no upside anymore, having been in the league for a number of years. The TWO of them would bring a 3rd-round pick from a contending team at the deadline. If you took Forsberg out of the trade it's still doubtful Florida would do this.

Agree on Bergenheim. Disagree on Matthias, who had a break-out season in 2012-13 scoring 14 goals in strike-shortened season. Also disagree on your trade deadline value. Marin Erat, he of 5 goals 19 assists for 2012-13, brought Forsberg at the TDL.

Nashville doesn't do this. Forsberg is the best forward prospect we've ever had, to this point.

Bad deal for Nashville.

Of the big 4 prospects, Nashville is least interested in the defenseman.

And there's no prospect out there that is so much better than the guy they can get at 4 that it's worth sending a prospect the caliber of Forsberg away.

Martin Erat is a far more established and better player than either player you are dangling and his pedigree (Obviously) around the league must be highly respected.

No to this deal. Preds will pick whoever is left as 4. Preds need to be stockpiling quality young talent at forward not giving it up. Poile likes Jones I'm sure but I have no doubt he is looking forward with the 4th. Only way we pick Jones is if Mac,Drouin,Barkov are off the board.

The Preds really needed a forward prospect the calibre of Forsberg. Don't see them giving him away.

Wow! Just wow.... This can't be a serious statement. Matthias had a breakout year, who really came into his own and showed he could be a 2nd line center. Bergy ( minus last season, because of injury) has done wonders for our team. He scored 17 goals in reg. season and did very well in the post season. He may be a 3rd liner, but he's a great 3rd liner who brings grit, scoring, and a hard-nosed attitude. He's not afraid to get into the dirty areas either.
So we give up those two, who add A LOT to our squad, PLUS our second overall, which will likely be Jones, who's been touted as the best D to come through the draft in the past 20 years, for the 4th overall and Forsberg????? Really??????
I wouldn't give all that up for 1st overall, let alone 4th. All top 4 prospects are projected to be elite, so why give up elite+ for just elite?

Nashville has zero interest in trading up to get Jones. Now if MacKinnon was available at #2, Nashville's ears suddenly perk up. They would add to the deal to get that done.

I agree but Forsberg isn't in play in any scenario in my opinion. You're looking at the typical trade bait in Blum plus some potential quality assets like Ekholm, Watson, maybe Beck (I love him). Not sure if it gets you the #2 though; pretty sure we stand pat at #4 or get some obscene offer at the draft that drops us (unlikely though, Poile drafts well and we develop even better).

You did this just to get a rise out of Predators fans, didn't you? There is no way this magnitude of awful could do anything otherwise.

The Predators have absolutely zero interest in trading up to take Jones. They have no interest in trading up at all. Even if they did, they wouldn't give up their only chance to revive their offense to do it.

Not that it matters but in no way will NSH trade Forsberg. This is like the third proposal I've heard with Forsberg being traded away. Umm no.
