don't mind this pick at all. the only question is, how many years he will need to make the jump.

I've been saying this since 2006: the Oilers are missing a mean ******* on the back end. Nurse looks to be mean like Jason Smith or Chris Pronger. Hopefully, talent-wise, he lands closer to Pronger.

I think Nichuskin might be BPA between him and Nurse. But you gotta trust the scouts. But the d prospects are stacked with Nurse. D are hard to evaluate and he may end up being better than Jones. Look at guys like Karlsson, Petro, Subban, Trouba who have all emerged to look better than the D drafted higher than them

Seems like exactly the type of player MacTavish likes. Wouldn't be surprised to see this trend in our drafting throughout his tenure as GM.

Hate the pick. Passed up a glaring need to add to a redundancy in the system. Hope he proves me wrong.

you got to be really happy with this pick, he has an incredible work ethic and skill. He isn't so far behind Seth Jones really. He reminds me a lot of Seabrook.

Obviously Gillis started to panic at the prospect of not being able to get a top 10 for Schneider. That he wouldn't do the 7th with the Oil probably just speaks to a lack of desire to give a divisional opponent a clear positional upgrade.

If the Oilers couldn't get Lindholm or Monahan, Nurse would be the next choice. Great pick Oils!

There isn't anyone else remotely like Nurse in the Oilers system.

Agreed. It's not like we took Morrisey. Nurse does fill a need

All ready warming up to the pick the more I think about it. The Oilers are poised to have a very big defensive core. Hopefully MacT shores up our bottom six before the end of the day.

Great pick IMO. Athletic defenseman that works his ass off. We needed a guy like him. Wouldn't have minded Nich either but he's more of a question mark.

So now we have Klefbom, Nurse, and J. Schultz to build around. Not bad. Not bad at all.

Really hope Nurse and Klefbom emerge to be top pairing d-men. Would love nothing more than the Nucks regret denying the Oilers of that trade.
