Please don't misunderstand.

We like Finns in South Florida... even if they do have a tendency to get drunk and attack our fire trucks.

Unless we sign LeCavalier (or re-sign Weiss) , he has an open spot to compete for.

There has to be some serious bad blood between Nino and the Isles front office for this to happen.

Joshua?

Reach by Jets, just like Scheifele. Scheifele is looking good though.

The one thing I'm really happy about is the size of our team. The guys we have drafted the last couple of years are much bigger. Our team has lacked size and physicality for too long.

If you're going to be dwarfy like Mac and Drouin, you better be Crosby good, which neither is. Not even remotely.

It is clear that when looking at the domination of guys like Lucic in the playoffs, Tallon wants skill AND size.

Oh, and Finland's top pro league is probably the most defensive, "North American"-like of all other pro leagues, and he was nearly a PPG producer as an 18 year old playing there. And don't forget how many stud goalies come from Finland.

Hard place to score, and Barkov pulls it off.

And Mac dominated? How? Hell, wasn't even the most gifted offensive threat on his own team.

Barkov said before draft that he doesn't really think or even care about the exact draft number, draft is cool thing but it doesn't really matter, what matters is getting to play after drafted and play good.

Maybe that sums about something about not that much emotions. He thinks getting drafted is yet nothing, not even he's dream come true, he's dream clearly is to play and play well.

Because of a rumor that he was interested in coming back.

Agree that it's crazy to give him $6M - heck anything more than he's getting now is crazy.

Some idiot will give it to him if he wants it though.

It's a great question... who? IDK who. We have great depth up the middle but we're still lacking a 1C. Barkov obviously is the plan to become that 1C, but you don't just draft a guy to immediately play the position. He needs to get a couple of weeks in the NHL, and then earn the spot. I would feel more comfortable with Goc or Matthias taking the 1C for opening night to be honest... as silly as that might sound.

Not quite on Huby's level, but great nonetheless. Also has a great shot. He's very hard to predict, he passes as much as he shoots. Excellent hockey sense, he makes the right play every time.

Disappointed they didn't do that and possibly get another high pick or a player we could use.
You don't know that. With Vinny gone, Tampa might have been targeting Barkov.

Not super thrilled with Barkov in FLA considering how talent was spoiled/traded until recent years. Hopefully it is a great match. I'd hate to see him come home with his tail between his legs, signing for a KHL team. The sky really is the ceiling for this kid.
