While I am disappointed we didn't take Hunter. I am actually excited we took Kerby, he can do it all. Back to back 40 goal seasons is pretty impressive. His game should translate, don't know if his numbers will but he has a cockiness/confidence to him that I like.

I'm a Djurgĺrdens IF (DIF) fan and have tried all season to be non-biased. I didn't expect Wennberg to be a 1st round pick at the beginning of the season and as he kept playing so well, I didn't want to overhype him. He really did surprise me.

Djurgĺrden is in Stockholm, so it has a large fanbase. But I don't blame him for wanting to move on.

Sens fan here in peace. I was hoping we'd take Rychel, you guys have a good character prospect on your hands, and I'm jealous.

I don't know much about Rychel, but got pretty excited when I saw TSN's player comparable: Gary Roberts.

I had CBJ taking Rychel at 19 but didn't expect Mantha to fall to this spot either. Interesting.

Nothing we can do if the trading partners just weren't there though

Rychel is exactly the kind of pick I expected Jarmo's team to make.

I thought it was funny how quick the Wings made there selection.

They must really really like Mantha.

Rychel is a player the scouts obviously have a lot of info on and they believe in his scoring ability. Back to back 40 goal seasons is no little thing. He was talked about as a top 10 pick in the preseason.

Damn it, we take Rychel and then the Wings get Mantha. Sounds about right.

As always, I try not to get to up or down with these picks, because I don't really know much about them beyond watching a little but of international competition, highlights and what we read in scouting reports...

But I'm not thrilled with either of these picks. I'm happy to be wrong in a couple years.

I don't know much about these kids as it is obviously kind of hard for an American to watch most of these guys, but I like what I have read about them and really like the philosophy- a creative two-way center paired with a big, mean, goal-scoring winger.

Neither pick was bad, but neither pick would be my preference. I think Rychel is a Nick Foligno type player in the NHL, and Wennberg is a Patrick Berglund type guy. Really shocked that we passed on Shinkaruk, twice.

Calgary is where Shinkaruk will go. He's a western Canada kik.

Same here. No way he's gonna be there at 27.

Really like what you guys have done so far, Jarmo knows what he is doing. Now that we arent division rivals Ill probably adopt the Jackets as my second team since I love Jarmo and JD.

Just like no way at 19? Could happen. And we could pass again.
