at the end of the day, van could possibly have both goalies gone. lack/whoever in the minors take over. its clearly a rebuild season

Honestly I wish Luongo would say he isn't coming back to play in Vancouver. Personally I don't see the Canucks winning anything with Luongo anyways, and it would be a nice wakeup call to Gillis aswell.

Not that Lu's a bad goalie or anything, but after all the drama and speculation, he's the one left?

Bad deal. Bad, bad deal.

Had two star goalies. Might end up with none.

I'm glad we still have Roberto Luongo and I hope he's still willing to play here.

On the bright side, Darren Dubnyk now knows the oilers tried to replace him today and that is never any good for a goalies psychie

Same here. I hope this doesn't turn out to be a nightmare. Hope he decides to stay.

HAHA so true. Players and GM's must just hate the world we live in today with nothing private anymore.

The man is human. He's had 18 months of speculation to deal, both his own and generated by others, about where he may end up living and working. All while having literally no control over the outcome. I think he's entitled to be a little pissed, regardless of the money he makes.

How are you a fan of the Canucks if you think this way? You know what I want to happen? Luongo comes back and we win the Stanley Cup.

This.

I'm hoping there's an outlandish clause in the next CBA that allows teams to trade away portions of their fickle, ridiculous fanbase.

Unlikely, but a guy can dream, can't he?

Calling it: Luongo for Bobrovsky. Why not.

I also want to see that. I also want Shinkaruk to be the next Patrick Kane, Horvat the next Patrick Sharp and win in the lottery. Just don't see that realistic in any shape or form.

I didn't realize that you can't be a fan of a team if you don't have blind hope and faith for anything the team does, my bad I guess.

To make it clear, I don't have high hopes for a disgruntled, declining Luongo, who clearly got outplayed by Schneider during last 2 seasons, to take this team to the promise land. And the way Gillis handled this situation was so brutal that, as a person who has huge respect for Luongo and I do consider myself as a fan of his too, I wish Luongo got his chance for fresh start somewhere. He deserves better than this mess of a situation that Gillis created. That's why I wish he refused to report. I think it would be better for both parties as weird as it sounds.

Maybe pundits will shut up now.

@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Once deal was agreed on last night, Canucks owner Francisco Aquilini decided to fly to Florida this morning to talk to Luongo. (con"t)

To add:
@tsnjamesduthie: Canucks owner Francesco Aquilini came to Luongo's house in Florida and told him about the Schneider trade moments before it was announced.

I think we need a post Schneider thread lol
