I think we will regret the Subban non-pick. There's just something about that family, I feel they have the pedigree needed to become NHL players. He might not be a stud like his brother, but I'm sure he'll work his way to the big leagues.

I'm growing on the draft honestly.

I didn't want Fucale but I also didn't think we'd even have a chance to get him at 36..so definitely the BPA and at a major organizational need.

McCarron is definitely a project...but he definitely has the tools to become a very solid player and he checks off a lot of issues we have had (puck protection, size, goes to the net and is intelligent in front of the net). If he goes to London (and you know they will push him that way...I like this even more)

DLR I have always liked. Has very comparable numbers to what Filip Forsberg's were in his draft year. I think he has the potential to be a very solid 2nd-3rd line guy.

Lehkonen..**** yes..this guy was a steal where we got him. Great offensive talent and is actually 6"0 tall (based off the pics from the combine). Really intelligent and if he adds some muscle, look out.

Crisp..I know it's hated and I didn't like it at first. However, considering the injury and how he improved on a **** team...and he does have some skills we lack in our system..I'm better with it. I know we could've gotten him later but maybe they see something really solid in him (Shaw-esque maybe).

Andrighetto..don't know a lot about him but small and skilled. Hopefully he has the drive Gally does. Regardless, interesting pick..I loved him at the WJC.

Reway..mostly the same as Andrighetto..few clips looks like he has some nasty hands.

Friends of mine who are actively following the Sherbrooke Phoenix praise Lysenko a lot, was one of the team best defenceman on the ice as a 18 years old, compares him to Emelin

According to Bergevin he was our pick at 116...Canucks got him one pick early.

Oh, and an argument for picking Swedish-based players in the 6th and 7th, if they are 1995-born we'd hold their rights for 4 years, 3 if they are 1994-born.

Not a fan of this at the moment, hopefully I'll eat crow. But I'm confident I won't have to.

I like Norstebo and Soberg too.

My top-5 right now are

Soberg, Norstebo, Soberg, Bell, and Johnson.

EDIT: And Bell's gone. Damn. Ikonen gone too.

As far as I'm concerned, it's all about wanting other players than the ones we picked. Honestly, the picked I liked the most were Fucale at 36, Lehkonen and Andrighetto. But even with all those guys, I had others in mind.

Why just Swedish players?

Anyway, either way the player has to be signed when they're around 22.

Yeah I'm trying to just focus on those we took and not who we could have taken.

I mean, if you have to take an overager...might as well take Aaltonen or Kichton.

Well, it's definitely an interesting draft, that's for sure. But while last year I felt like we got steals every time, the closest thing to steal this time was Lehkonen.

I think it was just a case of this draft not being as deep as advertised.

Do the habs have a 7th round pick? I thought they did? Anyways I can't believe Tyler Hill hasn't been drafted yet, or has he?

Alan Quine goes to the Isles...drafted by the Wings two years ago and went unsigned, re-entered the draft.

One of my picks in the mock back then too so I've always got an eye on him
