Feel bad for a kid like Kurt Etchegary. I thought I saw him mention on twitter something to the affect of his dream coming true today.

Clearly Timmins and MB did not have any interest in any of the remaining players. Why not try it again next year when a player they want to take a flyer on might be there.

Very smart move........kind of ridiculous that so many posters on here can't figure out such an obvious strategy.

We should sign Dea, him and Andrighetto had great chemistry.

True, it's just that some people seem to think we focused on "big" this draft, when it's really just the 2 huge guys. No one drafted between 191 and 225 pounds.

If anything that's a big reason not to draft him. Why would he automatically assume he would get drafted with those numbers?

I don't think it's terribly important whether Fucale is 180lbs or 191lbs so long as he stops pucks.

Lecavalier thread still very active despite the draft frenzy. I don't know if that's a good thing or not.

I don't feel like we drafted any difference makers. You'd think that's what we'd go for in the "deepest draft since 2003".

I don't think he "automatically" assumed it but when every scouting service in the world has you ranked in the top 210...you probably start to feel like it's an inevitability.

LMAO this was not a deep draft. first 2 rounds were deep on forward talent but after that it was slim pickins.

And Lehkonen is supposed to be a potential sleeper.

Edit: holy poop on a stick, no defensemen!

What I like best about this draft:

We added 8 prospects to our pipeline while Toronto added 5, and Boston (Idk, but less picks than us).

Holy, didn't even notice until you pointed it out!

So that's all forwards save for 1 goalie. Not bad.

And they picked Fucale, who I'd say is by and large a potential difference maker. Wouldn't have happened if the top 50 wasn't deep.
