NJ trading of their #9 pick for Schneider makes them winners all by itself.

Maybe the ranking was wrong?

Wanted Fucale and was pissed when Montreal took him right ahead of us and then we ****ing traded back, which a lot of us were skeptical about.

Nurse, Roy, Yakimov, Slepyshev, Houck, Platzer, and Chase were all picks I really liked. Wanted Bell, Subban, Hayden, Bartosak when they were all slipping but oh well.
Montreal trolled you big time there for Fucale, but I thought you guys would have grabbed Comrie.

Nashville and Dallas win. Not for doing anything particular well aside from not passing on some amazing talent that fell right into their lap. Tampa better be right passing on Jones, same as Buffalo and Vancouver passing on Nichushkin.

As a Flames fan, I was really happy with our choices except for the Kanzig pick. I really like the Poirier selection, think he could become a steal. Have you seen his speed?

Morrisey is a great player. He's undersized but he's like Rielly lite. Smart player...wouldn't surprise me if he becomes one of the better offensive defenseman in the league.

What the heck has SJ thinking making the trade with Detroit to jump over Columbus?!? CBJ were never gonna draft Mirco that high. We needed scoring forwards and physical defensemen.

Yep. They had a terrible coach for a very very long time. Talent can't compensate for bad coaching. Just look at Team Canada this year at the Worlds Championships.

Loser: San Jose- They went into the day with four picks in the first two rounds, and came out with Tyler Kennedy, Mirco Mueller, and Gabryel Paquin-Boudreau. That's horrific

Buffalo cleaned up

Oilers got 2 of the biggest risk/reward prospects in the draft

Yakimov is the huge 2 way center we need. Slepyshev is a guy with a really high ceiling, #1 OA pick in the KHL. At 7 I would have like them to get Nichuskin, but by adding Nurse they probaly have the best and most complete D prospects in the league now.

Vancouver got a gem in Shinkaruk to

The Hockey News draft thing said something about Shinkaruk's interviews going extremely poorly. Maybe the Flames interviewed him and didn't like what they heard?

Anyway, I like this draft for Calgary, if only because they got the exact type of player they needed - and that I wanted - with that #6 pick. Getting Klimchuk with the #28 is icing on the cake.

Buffalo was the clear cut winner. Ristolainen, Zadorav, Bailer, Hurley. Very good core of dman going forward for them

Devils are looking pretty pretty pretty good getting Schneider. God I hate them I wanted the Isles to get him, of course not.

Odd, because he is such a likeable guy and is outgoing and interesting in what I've seen on video.

The biggest winner has to be the Montreal Canadiens by far. Holy **** did they hit home runs on pretty much their first 3-4 picks. I hate it as a Leaf fan but how can you hate on their draft. I love De La Rose and Fucale as prospects, ****

In the last two years Buffalo has managed to get Grigorenko, Girgensons, Ristolainen, and Zadorav. Will be interesting to see these guys in 2-3 years.

SJ has never been good at the draft in the last few years to say the least. Not sure why but boy some of their decisions are head scratchers. Seemed to be a trade that didn't have to be made to begin with.

Buffalo had a good draft last year too.. They have drafted well overall as a franchise.

To be honest, I told my friends that the Habs would take McCarron, I even wondered if I could put money on it. Didn't find anything on Lotto-Quebec.. Whatever...Just a gut feeling, Timmis always love USHL player, he was ranked between 20-40 in mock/lists, he was right handed and right winger, something be badly lack in our system (Gallagher, Gionta, Blunden, Kristo are our top-4 RW)... And well 6"5 230lbs.

Nice to have Fucale, wasn't overly impress with him at the Memorial Cup but Craig Button, I like his inside on prospect and he had him 7th overall, so I guess its not bad to have him at 36th.

Couldn't tell you, since I wasn't there for the interviews.

What I do know is that Shinkaruk was touted as a top-five pick, dropped to 14th in TSN's rankings, then dropped another ten spots in the actual draft. That doesn't just happen for no reason. Time will tell whether Shinkaruk can overcome whatever it was that made him fall so far.

San Jose got the steal of the draft in Mueller but besides that I like what my Oil did Platzer Houck and Chase stand out for me.

I liked what Montreal and Columbus did because I like a lot of the guys they selected. Also, the Zykov move for LA was something that puts a talented goal scorer into their stable.
