I'm pretty cool with the fact that a few hometown guys have been drafted.

Maybe we will go with Daniel Lafontaine at 189. He is a projected 7th rounder...

NVM- went to BOS, NVM again- just showing up as a prospect profile.

Eh, Locke.

Classy by the Devils. Martin Brodeur has been the face of that franchise and it's a nice moment.

The NHL should lock the doors once the 7th ends until the GMs get all these supposed deals we've been hearing about for days worked out of their systems.

7-3-1 F-D-G spread. I like what they did today in many ways. The pipeline is now ever further stocked -- we may be looking at potential NHLers well down into the late teens for their prospect list now.

Devine said it wasn't good to have 13 different nationalities in the locker room.

Looks like they picked up a Russian to go with Grigorenko
A Fin to go with Armia, Leino and Teppo.
A Swede to go with Enroth and Larsson
Traded away SVK
Traded away Austrian (oh wait, not yet)
Drafted 7 players born in the USA
and only one from Canada (shocking change from the Sabres of the past)

Adding in we (Currently) have 3 of the Top 60 next year, will probably suck this year, and still more than likely have assets coming in from Vanek/Miller at some point.

Is it a little sad I'm excited by that? I think it's a little sad.

God I want McDavid.

Nobody predicted that. ha ha
Close to Devine stating 6-3-1 or 5-4-1.
I think most of us would have predicted one less pick instead (used to trade up).

All the new Prospect Info threads should have artwork now. I'll clean 'em up and data mine over the next two days, but Chain should have quoted reports in all of them. I'll note changes with the usual OP Addition title/posts, but for now, I need sleep.

The idea here is that they had 5 high quality picks in one draft, then whatever happens with the lower quality picks. I'd say it achieves its purpose as most drafts aren't going to be as loaded in quality picks or quality players.

They're talking about Miller for Strome.

Ok, Howard did just say that he has no memory of any #1 goalie ever going to a playoff team at the deadline. At least he's mildly paying attention to that.

I wanted MacKinnon, Jones, Drouin and Barkov. Once that was out of the question not moving up wasn't a big deal to me, getting D like Zadarov and Ristolainen was a huge need.

This makes me feel alot less excited about the thought of Ekblad that's forsure.

Oh, you take Ekblad. Rasmus and Nikita will probably be good NHL players, but you take Ekblad and you put him on your top pair and say, haha. I have the most elite D in the league. And you cry not a single tear about it.

if we won the lottery, we'd take Ekblad... and we'd love it... what's wrong with building an elite, elite blueline?
