Just want to say this...we are crazy. But will be another fun year to watch....one kid I will look forward to is Haydn Fleury, big d-man from Red Deer. Not sure where is slotted right now but I'm predicting he'll be a favorite of mine. But that's it folks...we'll connect later in that thread....like around October.

Appears to be a terrible year for the 'Q, compared to this season for sure, but overall very bad.

Lots of depth on D with Neill, Léveillé, Bahl, Deschamps, Carrier and Leblanc.

Forward group is pretty thin outside of the top3 of Audette, Aubé-Kubel and Pépin. Maybe Bishop, but still way too early for me to target other guys.

Couple of interesting goaltenders in Bureau and Bilia. Could add the huge Flinn who got traded to Québec a few weeks ago at the 'Q draft.

Sweden has a lot of good players for this draft, Forsbacka-Karlsson, Nylander and defenders whom the names slip my mind.

Bishop most definately up front. Let's watch for Falkenham's progression. If Garland wouldn't be so freakin small...Pépin for sure. Audette, Aubé as you mentioned and a few "undersized" others...But it won't be great indeed.

Agreed about Falkenham, making Halifax at 16 last season took a lot of talent.

Couple of Sting come to mind in Nik Goldobin and Anthony DeAngelo. Alexis Pepin would be a player to keep an eye on all year, I think he has the potential to climb the charts throughout the year.

Of course there is Reinhart, Ekblad, and Nylander, but I expect the Habs to be in the playoffs again so not likely lol

What are our picks for 2014? Do we have all of them still?
Plus the 7th rounder from yesterday!

Watching Galchenyuk in Sarnia before Christmas got me excited about Goldobin, but we've got a little bit of time to see how everything pans out for next years draft.

Did Kristo end up doing anything at the draft? (streaking, underage drinking, frostbite?)

As someone said earlier, Jared McCann would be perfect next year. I will keep a close eye on him, he had a great rookie season with my Hounds... This should he a big year for him, with Cousins gone, he should break out.

Yes, we currently hold all our picks for that draft and the Panthers 7th.

how does this draft (2014) look like compare to the other years? Is it a below average or just an another average draft?

Back to normal I would say after a great 2013 draft. There's no clear #1 at this point although there are some fine talents up there like Reinhart and Nylander. That said, IMO those guys comapre more to Sean Monahan than they do to MacKinnon. Nylander could have a Drouin-like season though. I think he's the one with most to win this season.

Some good depth up there as well with Ekblad, Bennett, Draisatil and so on. So a good draft, but not like 2013.

Average to good. You can't compare it to the 2013 draft. Not yet, anyway.

I hope the Habs finish in the middle of the crop again and draft around the 18-25 range. Goldobin would be a sexy pick and has some chemistry with a certain other Sarnia Sting player.

The idea is that it will be great....till pick 10. Then the gap is much more significant than this year's....More works for the scouts and for us, looking for hidden gems but really really hidden this time....

I wished we would pick 30th

It will never happened

I will hopefully be seeing more Q games this year and have an idea in my head about analyzing goaltending prospects this season.

You seemed to struggle with it this year.....

Kidding but, now that Mantha is drafted by Detroit, I fully agree with everything you said about him. What a chump!
