He reminds me of Luc Robitaille in an odd way (he just seems so opportunistic) and I think he either becomes that type of player or he'll end up being a player who spends his career in Finland or Sweden.

I like the pick.

Interesting story about Lehkonen, when Jarkko Ruuttu hit him with a filthy headshot and the media in Finland created a big ****storm about banning him, Lehkonen actually spoke out against some of the reactions saying the best way to get revenge is to score after that.

The kid is definitely fearless, I just hope it doesn't end up ruining his career.

A needless, disgusting play by Ruutu.

Behind only Salminen who's 7 years older and a Finnish league legend at this point. He's going to be good.

Does anyone have info on the injuries suffered fron the Ruutu hit, and how he was able to come back from it?

definitely a potential steal.

Also our left handed scoring line wings were an obvious weakness in the system.

He and DLR potentially address that.

Yeah, I don't really want to compare him to Saku but the determination definitely reminds me of him. However small the Finnish talent pool has been in recent years, they are rarely soft. Well, besides Joel Armia.

Two concussions in a year is scary though.

Another massive steal for the Canadiens. Top Shelf Prospects had his going in the first round as their 30th best prospect in the draft. Camalleri would be a good comparable in terms of style.

Yes, scary. Not exactly the type of picture you want of your prospect...

Looks like Kariya after Stevens hit in '03 Cup final. And Kariya came back and scored in OT

Apparently he missed 6 games from it.

It was a strange play to be honest. I don't like Ruutu, it was defnitely late and apparently he had threatened to "knock your lights out" earlier in the game, but the actual hit?

Lehkonen fell in the most awkward of ways. Looks like he was fully conscious when he was hit, but fell on his back - thus striking the back of his head on the ice.

Any news on his military commitment?
Yes I wanna know that too. About his size, he is also fairly weak. Once he adds on muscle he should be better along the boards and at protecting the puck.

Blatantly late, blindsided/vulnerable position, shoulder to the head as a principle point of contact. Hitting the ice didn't help but that's an incredibly dirty hit to lay on a 17 year old kid who weighs roughly 30lbs less than Ruutu, head hitting the ice or not. Disgusting, pisses me off just watching it.

No disrespect... yes, it was a little late, but it wasn't incredibly dirty. I'm surprised that was a concussion. He desperately needs to get stronger.

definitely late and high hit, but Lehkonen should have had his head up the ice and not to his back admiring his pass

Targeting the head of a player in a vulnerable position after the puck is clearly out of the players possession isn't dirty? There was intent to injure, from what Ruutu said before the game and clearly from how the play evolved. No two ways about it, it was a dirty play. If that's Patrick Kane and Matt Cooke, we're looking at some serious repercussions. As was said, it's likely the hit combined with hitting the ice that caused the concussion.

He could definitely use about 20-30lbs on his frame. He's going through a growth spurt at the moment so hopefully we'll see his game and his frame mature over the next couple of years.

Man, he would be the biggest steal ever if he somehow ends up being 6'+ with a good frame.
