Would love to sign Ribeiro. He's been a solid 70ish point player per 82 games for the past 9 years. Also wouldn't mind going after Michael Ryder.

I want players younger than both of them.

Horton or Ryan

Neither one of them will sign here unless we grossly overpay. Specifically Ryan.

I know it won't happen but can you imagine if we traded for Seguin. I would be stoked if we did. To bad Poile won't go after him...

That type of deal would likely cost us enough to negate the awesomeness of having Seguin. I would think anyway.

Alright overall. In the playoffs it's great, but the regular season is hit or miss. I went to five games of the NYR playoff series and it was nuts; I also went to the home opener against the Jets and several others and I was unimpressed frankly. Their fans spam cow bells which are possibly the most annoying freaking things ever.

Honestly, I've probably done ~120 Preds games, ~200 Flyers games (grew up with season tix in Philly), ~15 Caps games, ~10 Whalers games (real Whalers not Canes), ~5 Hawks games, ~5 Canes games and a smattering of other random ones (NYI, NYR, COL, etc.) and I can honestly say I think the Bridge is the best venue of them all. Great fans, loud arena, and great nightlife right nearby.

One's too expensive and an injury waiting to happen, and the other will cost a fortune in talent. I'm not sold on Ryan, he's going to be a UFA pretty soon, and his rep is bigger than his production.

I'd go for guys like Clarke MacArthur, Valteri Filppula, Mason Raymond, etc. They're good fits who are good bets for 20-25G and 40-50pts over an 82 game season. They'll put more pts on the board than both Erat or Kostitsyn.

The way this team is built - we can and will be effective by rolling several lines that can score and play hockey in both ends.

Don't tell that to the posters that would sacrifice body parts to get a 40 goal scorer because it's essential. Not 50. 40.

I still want them to go after at least 1 of these 3. Filppula, Stalberg, or Bosak. If we landed 2 of them I would be jumping for joy. I'll add that I would want those players in the order I listed them in.

I know these players wouldn't totally solve our scoring issues but it sure would help a ton to have lines that looked something like this.

Wilson/Fisher/Horny
Stalberg/Filppula/Smith
Forsberg/Legwand/Bouque
Beck/Gaustad/Spaling

There still wouldn't be a so called true top line but we could roll out 3 pretty good scoring lines in front of a very strong D.

I'd swap FF and Staalberg. But this is a great lineup for the Preds, it is pretty dynamic and provides a ton of potential 40-60 point players. That is how we should build our team. Love this lineup.

Also swap Fish and Leggy. Fisher, on a good team, is a great 3rd line center.

It looks like he is wanting 5m a year and Detriot can't offer that much. I would be overjoyed to take him away from the wings and pay him that money.

Bosak is looking for around the same money and I personall would pass at that cap number. I wouldn't want to pay more than 4m a year for Bosak

Stalberg I still think will be in the 3-3.5m a year range on a shorter contract and I would be happy to get him at that rate as well.

If Filppula can be had for 5m and stalberg for 3.5m that would put us pretty close to the cap and i'm not sure we will go that route. Filppula alone would be fine with me and I can see that maybe happening as long as it is only 5 years max. If he wants 7 years I am not sure I want him at 5m a year until he is 35.

Filppula scored 66 points in 11-12. Outside of that, he's never broken 40, and had 17 in 41 games last season. I know there's more to it than stats, but $5/mil or more seems a bit pricey to me.

wow, really? Its pretty obvious the three teams above us drafted for immediate need rather than taking the best player available. Which is perfectly acceptable give that all of the top four were really, really, good, but that doesnt change the fact that Jones was rated no lower than 2 by any draft anaylst that I read or heard... and I realize they are only paid professionals and you are an epic internet poster but I kinda think since there was such broad consensus that they were probably right...

It is more his style of play imo that I like. I really think he is better at C than at LW but with Zetter and Pavel there is no way he plays center for the wings. He is very strong on the puck, handles the puck very well, can shoot and pass, and is very good on faceoffs. He has some flash to his game as well and I could see him really helping the Predators.

More than I know. Thanks. Still doesn't seem like a "number one" center, but.....

Unless we make some blockbuster trade and we know that won't happen. There really isn't a true number one out there so Filppula would be a viable alternative imo.

Our only shot at a #1 C was yesterday and that didnt happen.

We need one or two wingers that can score 20 or so to replace erat and SK.

If Wilson can play center on one of the top 2 lines this year and FF can score 20 goals we may only need one UFA winger

If we settle for one of those players or player like them then we don't improve. We would be the same team with a bunch of 50 point scorers and no legitimate offensive threat..

Rather not spend money on them, id spend the money on an actual TOP three Fwd
