Why would Snider give a crap about Phoenix?

Maybe for this reason even though it may not hold an NHL team there again?

Phoenix team has hemorrhaged money, I don't see how anybody getting involved will turn a profit.

Why would we be getting Pietrangelo from the Blues for hrelping Phoenix? I would think we would be getting OEL for the help. I would take either of them tho

The team could move, but it doesn't mean the arena will be gone. It can host other venues, maybe even make way for an AHL team or something.

I think he just bought a 2005-like lottery for our home draft

In other news, Letang apparently hasn't signed the extension yet. And Pens fans stopped with the "Mark Streit!!" jokes. Coincidence?!

I trust Global's business instincts. After all, they're probably the main reason the Flyers can throw money away on Bryz et al.

There are a lot of models on how to select an investment (NPV, IRR, Payback, --and about 4 others). I'm sure they got the math nerds on it.

I heard they can actually make more money if the team leaves due to the shallow fan base and high management costs. Have concerts, events, etc and less management and it's plausible to turn a profit. If the team stays, -- I'm not sure what the angle is, but GS will be getting paid to manage whatever is there.

Somebody (I forget) tweeted that RDS is moving funds into Escrow. Either they know something or just hoping for the best.

Perhaps they want in on Jobing for long-term, non-hockey reasons?

I have no idea, I'm just spitballing. I haven't actually read into the situation, so i could be missing the mark.

Peter Mueller not qualified in Florida, has a top 6 skill set but injuries are a problem. He's also pretty good in the shootout.

Doesn't he have a Carter-esque wrister?

Not sure where he'd fit in here.

Who hasn't had a good season since his rookie year. Topped out at 54 points. His last few seasons...

08-09 - 72GP, 13 G, 23A
09-10 - 69GP, 13 G, 24A
10-11 - DNP
11-12 - 32GP, 7G, 9A
12-13 - 43GP, 8G, 9A

I just don't see how he fits into the lineup, especially considering hes been playing C

No thanks to Mueller.

We either need Gagne and Lecavalier or Gagne and a big, space-clearing winger for Couturier.

That's all we need.

I'm just throwing names out there, we have a spot in our top 6 unless we plan on giving one of Couturier/Read 2nd line minutes. You act like Lecavalier is a sure thing, but what's next when you don't get him. Are we ok going into next season with an offense of;

Hartnell-G-Voracek
Read-Schenn-Simmonds
Gagne-Couturier-Laughton
Rinaldo-Talbot-McGinn

**** no.

Mueller can play C and RW is good on the PP and the shootout and would come cheap. Everyone cries about Couturier never having any wingers but is ok going into next season with Gagne and a rookie as his wingers except this time not on our 4th line but our 3rd.

6', 210 and still hits like a train. Really, everything you just said it completely wrong. I'd take him if he's willing to sign for less than $3m/year for a year or two
