So that makes the staff:

Rolston: figurehead/overseer, deployment controller, "player's coach" with emphasis on fundamentals

Sacco: player's coach #2, NHL HC experience, sort of a "RR in two places at once" type of hire
Teppo: cerebral NHL veteran learning NHL coaching grind, focus on defensemen
Corsi: goalie coach, some connection to advanced stats

Seems like an on-paper tactician would really tie this group together...

That is a pretty crappy analogy. Sacco will do well in a more limited role and can impart some head coaching insight as well.

NHL experience is NHL experience.

Plus, he did a great job when he was head coach in the AHL. Which is definitely a plus given our current rebuilding situation.

It's too bad Craig Ramsay isn't available.

Another Right Winger? Couldn't we draft a Center?

They need another vowel for their next coach. Zeppo, Groucho, Harpo... get 'em all.

We can give Rolston some corny NHL nickname. Ronzo?

Looks like the Sabres didn't like seeing "Report" on headlines. 4:30 presser to announce Sacco's hiring.

I always kind of felt that Sacco would have made a better NHL Assistant Coach than a Head Coach. He seems like a "players coach" from what we've heard around the old "Water Cooler".

But he made some strange decisions on a lot of things, among those he employed a Dump And Chase system that wasn't good for Colorado, he used guys like Matt Hunwick and Greg Zanon in roles they weren't meant for (as in most ice-time for Defenseman most games).

His PP last year was beyond atrocious, and for the most part was bad the year before. He seemed pretty infatuated w/ playing a Forward on the Point in a PP, and several times last year he would bring out a 5-Forward PP, meaning we gave up a lot of shorthanded scoring chances/SHG's.
I think he's a good guy that was put in a situation way above his head too early. As an Assistant he can learn some more, I feel he'll be better as an Assistant Coach anyway.
He's found Nirvanna in Buffalo...

Gunner - The gunner is responsible for laying the gun.
Loader - The loader loads the gun, with a round appropriate to the target. In tanks with auto-loaders this position is omitted.
Seems like Buffalo is all set for the model "BS13-14" Tank crew... RonRol, Sacco, Teppo, Corsi

I have a good buddy who is an Avs fan, he's a pretty smart hockey guy and he absolutely hated Sacco. I guess I'll reserve judgement and trust Rolston's decision, but it's a pretty uninspiring hire.

For what it's worth, Tony Granato was an even worse HC and he did pretty good as an assistant coach in Pittsburgh.

Well I mean he's only an assistant and he's a former Adams finalist. He has a relationship with Housley

Meh. He does meet several popular requirements though, like: retired NHLer, previous HC/Asst. experience, is from outside the organization, has developed young players for LE/COL (ie. Galiardi), was a Jack Adams finalist, etc.

Edit: And Chain IIRC, those LE teams he coached were crap because Avs and Granato had many call-ups.

Eh, it's not like either team was chock full of future NHLers. Not sure if that is on him or on the Avs.
