I know you're probably kidding, but if Hossa played another 12 years that would be pretty remarkable. (Teemu peeks in through the window)

So is there realistically no chance that Teuvo makes the team out of camp this season?

No, there's no chance. I don't think he's far away - and when he's ready I suspect they'll just make room for him where ever they want him to play. I'm not worried.

Might be sooner than later

With Hossa's bulging disc, I could see Hoss hanging them up as soon as the end of next year. TT will definitely be adding some weight and hopefully muscle on to his frame in Finland this coming season. After that, who knows? Rockford or the Hawks!

I think many of you thinking TT is further away then he is. He will be in training camp in 2014 and could easily earn a spot by then.

As others have said Hossa might not recover from his injury or it might reduce his role and his abilities. TT could fit in on a 3rd line with Saad and Shaw and be a good player and earn a top 6 role too.

Either way I don't see him being in Rockford or Finland much beyond 2014 if at all.

Why?

He'll grow into his body more but he isn't that much smaller then Kane.

His game will be speed, agility, elusiveness and doesn't need to bulk up to become something he isn't.

I would be surprised if Teravainen doesn't make the team out of camp in 2014. Quite surprised. He'll go into the top-6, and Hossa will drop to the third line:

Bickell - Toews - Kane
Sharp - Pirri/LeBlanc - Teravainen
Saad - Danault/Kruger - Hossa
Shaw - Danault/Kruger - McNeill

Keith - Seabrook
Leddy - Hjalmarsson
Stanton - Clendening

Crawford
Raanta

another thing to keep in mind is that he's a bowman pick and they obviously had him ranked way higher than where they were drafting. when they feel he's ready to play, stanbo will make sure he receives privileged consideration.

Every pick is a Stan Bowman pick. That doesn't mean Danault, McNeill, Teravainen, etc. will get any extra privileges or make the team sooner than they should.

there always is a chance, but it's not realistic. Sure, if he impresses enough and 1-3 injuries happen in preseason.

It could happen to about 0.1%

Luxury problem for sure, we'll have a spot for him if he is good enough. I see him on a top 6 wing maybe as early as 2014/15.

i did not say he would make the team sooner than she should. however, i do not think he will sit around in rockford the way other prospects have and instead will be given his opportunities to succeed quicker. you are free to have your own view and disagree with me.

When Leddy emerges over the next 2 yrs to his "IMMENSE TALENT" to put up points like Karlsson or Letang andthen demands $9 million+ on his 3rd contract and Pirri becomes a top 2C in the league and demands his $6million plus..then they package those two and TT in a blockbuster deal for the #1 in 2015..franchise C. ..Connor McDavid..I think that is Stan's new Mastsr Plan.

great logic HF50... but if Leddy becomes the best D in the NHL, why should we add in a trade that would only give us a prospect?

Put LeBlanc at 4C, move Kruger to RW and put Pirri at 2C and I'm sold.

A minor tweakage - I like the idea of Hartman playing with Shaw and then throw McNeill with them could be a very good 4th line ... assuming Hartman is everything they say he is and McNeill finds his niche as a big physical winger.

Saad-Danault-Teravainen > Ladd-Bolland-Versteeg in 3 years????

I see Teravainen as a Backstrom type player,(center or not) creative passer, can carry the puck and has a good two way game, not selke worthy but solid. I like his potential to be a weapon on the power play and a third line which is one ball of Skill, finesse and grit.

Saad-Danault-TT
Shaw-Kruger-McNeil

That bottom 6 consists of three first round picks. Should be four with Saad. I don't believe McNeil should be called a bust, these guys get to take their time developing, but what's awesome is they all have offensive upside outside of Shaw who is their purely for grit and some secondary scoring.

People are vastly overrating strength in the form of weight. Teravainen for example is a different body than McNeil and Beach. Think Datsyuk type, lean and wirey, or a Frolik type: can use their amazing balance to battle and steal pucks. I recall the Hawks training staff mentioning his amazing lower body strength and balance.

Exciting to see who makes it.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but not because he'll have preferred treatment, but because I think he'll be ready after next season. He's the kind of guy that could start off on the 4th line, and his development wouldn't take a hit.
