Not sure I like this trade but his asking price must be too high for the Sharks. Let's hope one of our prospects can replace him because i'm not getting my hopes up for any free agents/trades.

Unless this is a precursor to a Bobby Ryan trade and then he and Pavs and Wingels form a 'Mericuh line.

DW probably has a trade for Pavs in the works so he doesn't care what Pavs thinks.

So Demers lived with Setoguchi and Mitchell a few seasons ago, and didn't he live with Galiardi last season? He needs to bunk with Burish next.

The 4th rounder is in 2015.

Also, we all know Demers is living with Couture next.

David Pollak ‏@PollakOnSharks
A thought: Liked working with Galiardi and welcomed his candor, but maybe #SJSharks didn't appreciate his verbal shots at Quick in playoffs.

I personally enjoyed them. But that would be an awful reason to rid of a player.

Yeah, Pavelski would like a Bobby Ryan trade. Then he'd get to play with Etem and Selanne.

He wasn't gonna sit out the season. He beat DW in a game of chicken and even got him to trade him to his hometown team.

You shouldn't do favors for underachievers who tried to screw you over, you do that stuff for good soldiers like Clowe.

I would say trading him to Calgary is more of a punishment than a favor.

DW traded for him after he had had contract issues with Colorado. DW had fair warning when he acquired Galliardi. So yes, it is all DW's fault.

I doubt TJ wanted to be traded to Calgary.

Definitely a possibility, too. RT @nuggetsauce I still think it's just money. Filed for arbitration last time, wants Top 6 money.

Eh, Galiardi is from Calgary, so that's one small positive of being traded to that place.

Of course, makes the McGinn trade look even worse, but you can't keep a guy a pray he becomes something he isn't.

I'd rather see Hamilton or Tarasov or another prospect get a shot on the 4th line.
Both need to play and neither has the skill set for traditional 4th line roles.

Marleau - Couture -Hertl
Nieto/UFA- Thornton - Burns
Torres - Pavelski - Kennedy
Shep - Desi - Burish
Wingo

Too many rookies, unless DW thinks Shep or Wingles could play top 6. We would still need another forward. They must be targeting someone in free agency.

It sucks that we had to give him up but no way was he worth any more that 1-1.5 m. Bet he was trying to get 2 or 2.5m.

I think we all liked Gali but let's be honest, he wasn't very good. His hands suck, he gets knocked off the puck too easily, and is all bark with no bite. We can get a similar, better player.

All that said, I really hope DW has a plan here. We need an actual top 6 winger to play with Thornton.
