Man I'm gonna miss the hell out of him. Really depressed to see him go, but he was finished.

Will never forget his clutch play earlier this season. Definitely a HUGE part to the most entertaining and successful Knicks season in a decade.

To shut up that obnoxious Brooklyn crowd and see all those Knicks fans jumping, definitely my favorite moment of the season.

Yeah...if we had that JKidd in the playoffs we take care of Indiana easy.

Oh well. Thanks a lot Jason, this season was all about learning to love guys I used to hate (Carmelo, Jason, Kenyon, JR before the playoffs.)

edit- and yeah, his dagger three is the best play in what was, IMO, one of the best games in the entire NBA all season.

Looks like JKidd is the front runner for head coach of the Brooklyn Nets......

Jason ran to N.Y for a nice little retirement bonus. Smart guy.

Kidd officially named coach of the Nets. lol.

Deron Williams is a coach killer. For all the flak Melo gets, he hasn't been this bad.

No way Deron disrespects J-Kidd like he did Sloan.

J-Kidd could still beat his ass.

I'm rooting for the Spurs. I'm so tired of people picking the Heat. One day everyone will be wrong. Hopefully it's this series.

Brief scouting report on Bargnani - spreads the floor. very consistent shooter. poor d. poor rebounding. Injury prone.

However let's not fret about the negatives yet. Bargnani's knock by Raptor's fans is that he has no effort to play for them. Leading me to believe he's had no desire to play there. Some players get a change of scenery and pick their play up - ex: Zac Randolf. Bargnani could post 22pts, 6/7r with decent effort and good coaching. Believe Woodson will hold him accountable. Think him as a role player rather than the #1 option on a team will help him grow as a player too. Very VERY good move.

This may seem like a pointless move to many of you but look between the lines. In 2015 Amare's, Tyson's, Melo's, and Bargnani's contracts will all be expiring (73.5 mill off the books). The Knicks are going shopping very soon.

Notable fa's that year: Rondo, Kevin Love, Marc Gasol.

Expect more moves to come this year too. I think the Knicks will really add some quality depth for Melo. Look for Amare to maybe be bought out. Aaron Brooks could be a possibility. Tony Allen maybe? Rondo? Maybe another move out of no where coming? This will not be our only move.
Nice write up...I agree with you

And yeah, only reason this is a good move is because it lines up the expiring contracts. We continue to **** away picks, though. I really dislike that, but Grunwald seems set on building the team through FA's (which I guess makes sense since we need to do something in Melo's prime) and I don't really doubt his ability.

Am I missing something? In what shape or form is this a good move? I watch Bargnani play and he'll make you respect Stoudemire's enigmatic play. He is a garbage bust player who is the softest big man in the league. The Knicks just pissed away their season with this trade. They own two of the most brutal contracts in the league now, Bargani and Stoudemire. AND they gave up picks for him.

Would be a perfect D'Antoni player, no defense, Woodson will hate him.

UPDATE: Knicks trade for Bargnani will NOT be approved by NBA tonight. As a result, teams will have to restructure under 2013-14 cap figures

Breaking: The NBA did not approve the Bargnani to the Knicks deal tonight. We'll have to be tweaked in order to make it work after June 30th

Thank god.

Hope this gets nixed and we end up sending Stoudemire somewhere.

Fixed.

The Knicks are missing out by not signing a truly elite franchise player in Chris Paul. I see no player of his caliber being available anytime soon on the open market. It's a shame because he wanted to play with Melo. The other Glen ruining this NY team decided it was smart to use a compliance on a solid vet like Chauncey Billups.

Stat padding? Do you remember when he went 30-30 against the Knicks? Guys the best rebounder in the league. Had like 50 straight double doubles. Stats like that just don't happen by accident. Stop being a clown.

Am I missing something? Love is a great rebounder in garbage minutes for the TWolves. He is a sub .400 shooter and is not a very polished defender yet. I would be very hesitant to give him the max contract at this point, especially with his injury issues. He has no idea what it takes to be winning player IMO. That's why I much prefer Chris Paul.

Kevin Love was top 4 in win shares in 2011-2012. He suffered a freak injury (and reinjury) this year, and if he has time to adequately heal he'll be a beast for years to come.

Chauncey was awful here. The problem wasn't amnestying him, the problem was picking up his option in the first place.

Since the Bargnani deal is going through, we hope he can be a more well-rounded Steve Novak (offensively at least) and then let him, Amar'e, and Tyson go and grab K-Love and Rondo.

just gives me flashbacks of Stoudemire and Randolph. Would prefer the PG, maybe Rondo, but all he does is shoot bricks.

The Raptors and Knicks have agreed in principle to a trade that will see Andrea Bargnani sent to New York for Marcus Camby, Steve Novak, Quentin Richardson, a first-round pick and a pair of second-round picks.
http://www.cbc.ca/sports/basketball/...-bargnani.html

Fire Glen Grunwald.

The thought of having two of the softest bigmen in Stoudemire and Bargnani makes me want to puke. The only good from this is seeing Novak jettison out of here, he was brutally overrated by Knicks fans.
