Canadiens Montréal ‏@CanadiensMTL 1m
Canadiens acquire right winger Christian Thomas from the New York Rangers in return for Danny Kristo.

For what it's worth, Thomas is two years younger and was a higher draft pick than Kristo.

But he's also 2' shorter, so time to panic, right?

Don't like the trade but I have feeling he was forced to do it. We never heard a word from Kristo that he liked MTL and couldn't wait to get here.

Christian Thomas is a good piece. I like him more as a prospect than Kristo, that's for sure. I never felt that Thomas progressed after his post-draft season, but he did have an absolutely outstanding rookie year in the AHL on a poor team. He's a tremendous skater with great hands.

Judging by the reactions here, I'm going assume that no one here has watched Thomas play. Just looked as his size and decided that NYR won because Kristo has two inches on him.

Must've really disliked Kristo and what he brought to the table in his AHL stint.

On another note: This time last year I was incensed at Kristo and that report about his suspension (or was it arrest?) and people told me to that it's all okay, he's just a kid. Well then.

Kristo scouting report, plz?
At UND he was used in pretty much every situation.

He can hit if he wants to. Has good speed and a tremendous shot/hands.

He's pretty much Thomas/Gallagher, but bigger.

That does it. A 2008 player drafted by the habs will never play for the habs. We don't even wait to see what he can do... AND it;s to the Rangers.

Rangers can't defend ? Turn to Montreal, get a top d prospect
Can't score ? Turn to Montreal and get a top winger prospect.

There better be an internal reason.

Why give up a player that is ready to step up in the NHL for a midget?

You realize Thomas is an extremely comparable prospect, right? Let's not pretend Kristo is tough because he's 2' taller.

Most of this board considered Kristo a midget.
