Thomas was never going to make it with this team, since he's got a top 6 skillset but not top 6 ability. Kristo can fit into a 3rd line role. He'll start with Hartford but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him play at least a game or two with the Rangers this season.
That to me is the most significant part of this trade, rangers are lacking guys who fit into the bottom 6. They have a lot of potential top 6 guys, but few bottom 6

Most selfish player I have ever seen play (in terms of passing). Stupid player. I have hated him for years. I think this is pretty well-known.

He's up there with Palmieri in my dislike category.

Already saw your posts on him a few years ago. Saying he is selfish and doesn't have good hands, I believe that was the jist of it anyway

Kristo was an excellent player for North Dakota.

That's good to hear. Even shifting to either wing is fantastic. I watched a couple of his games and I thought he was the most notable player on the ice for UND. But he was probably also the most experienced.

Yep. My opinion remains the same. I didn't think Thomas was going to be a gamebreaker for us, but we always seem to trade for players I dislike. Or sign them.

I recommend you read the children's book that I believe was inspired by Kristo's WJC career.

I dunno. 26 goals and 26 assists in 40 games is pretty damn good for NCAA. Leslie Treff seems to love this deal on Twitter.

ok cool, at 23 this kid should be more mature than Thomas so he could help now.

Lindberg, Miller down the middle in CT. Fast, Kristo on the wing. not too shabby

Honestly, this team could use a showboat. If he likes being in the spotlight, let him be in the spotlight. Maybe we'll score or something

And if spotlight is his thing, no better place than MSG

Let him hog the puck on the 3rd line all he wants. Might actually lead to some possession and sog

There's the post I was waiting for...there was no bigger critic of Kristo at the 2010 WJC than you.

I still think Rangers need more puckhogs. All we've done is complain about passing all year and now that the Rangers have a player described as a puck hog we complain he wont pass!

Not only more mature, but a better all around game, much better defensively and along the boards. Thomas was more of a pure sniper who was also tiny, no real role for him as a bottom 6. Kristo can play bottom 6. His NHL upside is probably a 2nd liner, but 3rd line may be a good fit as well

What about his game when he doesn't have the puck? From what I hear he is quite solid at most things.

I find it difficult to believe you could ever hate a prospect

Is this the guy everyone was complaining about because he wouldn't pass to rangers prospects during the world jnrs a few years back?

Yikes!.. Not sure bout this one boys. Kristo has had his share of off ice issues.. Seems like a head case to me.. Why else would Montreal give up on a #1?.. Seems like his #'s were pretty good at ND..Played with Stepan and CK at the WJC..
