Oh we all know who Kristo is. The guy whose WJC career inspired a children's book.

After seeing this trade, I hope he never makes another trade again. He just gave Kristo away for nothing.

Side ways move at best. A 0.5 PPG AHL player nothing to write home about. Doubtful going to top 2 line scorer. At 5.9 170lbs at that, can't see where it addresses anything we need?

Corban Knight said something last week...Kristo must have wanted out of here because Berg said at draft...why make sideway moves?

I hope we don't pick players just on character. If that happened in the past guys that help us win cups like Lafluer, Lemieux, Chelios, Roy would of been traded early for character flaws.

So an asset who was an NCAA scoring machine, played on the USA national team needs to get traded before he even gets a chance to adjust to the pro game?

I dont.

But why settle for an undersized (and I am not talking about height) forward when Hamilton is bursting at the seams with undersized forwards.

Get a second round pick for 2014 or 2015.

Well I'm sure our team will show a lot of character if we don't make the playoffs.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Grew up in an NHL environment, knows what it takes, has a dad who can offer all sorts of advice and support. Are you serious? There are a lot of obtuse folks on here suddenly.

Seriously - McCarron's can't have skill because he's 6-5..need skilled guys...so we trade for one....he's too short!

Are there honestly people on here who think the Habs are wasting their time drafting and trading for players who aren't 6-2 exactly? I'm honestly dumbfounded by this lack of intelligence.

What? What do you think it takes to win a cup? A team of great players who don't care when it's important?
Bergevin knows it. The habs didn't do **** in 20 years, deceptions over deceptions. FINALLY someone realises what it takes to win a cup.

And you guys (not you in particular, Andy) probably have never seen Thomas nor Kristo play. Seeing what almost everyone here writes is absurd.

Maybe because MB was in "GTFO Kristo" mode and accepter whatever farm help he could get?

I don't know...

To be honest, I would have prefered a pick (or a better pick in a future draft) than Thomas. But speculating on the player he could've had is wrong.

Besides, it's not like MB could trade for Ron Jeremy...

Amazing trade for Habs.

Marc Bergevin is awesome and I approve this trade!

What a steal by Habs.

Christian Thomas has a potential to be a dominant sniper in the NHL.

Hey...we don't know if Kristo will turn out better than Thomas or visa versa.... Most of the frustration is on the timing after waiting 4 years for Kristo and also the size only because two days ago we just drafted size.

Just perplexing!

I personally think, it's an even trade. In the end, maybe Kristo has little bit more upside, but still.. I believe that most of us are overrating him. Anyway, with all the problems he had off the ice and the reputation of selfish player he had, I am not really a Kristo believer anymore.

I find Thomas a little bit to small, but I believe he has a shot to make the NHL. He has the most amount of goals/points 3 consecutive years in his OHL team's. He also has interesting number in his first year as a AHLer, he had more goals/points than any player of our AHL team. I know that the statistic don't tell everything, but from what I am seeing those numbers are good enough to make it one day to the NHL.

I would venture to say that less than 5% have anything of value to add to a thread.
Part of the text and Twitter generation. Need to express themselves but with really nothing to say.

I am confident Bergevin will explain himself on this move, in the meantime we just got a young player with NHL potential to talk about.

Kristo's not going to be throwing his weight around in the NHL. I'm not familiar with Thomas, but I don't think you need to worry about size when Kristo is going the other way.

Well, was really high on kristo, and the initial reaction TO the trade right off the bat is NOOOO BLARGH

but, this thomas kid does seem interresting, ..love that he has a AHL year under his belt already and not bad numbers for a 20 year old

kid looks like he can score, ..and personaly i dont give a flying **** how big he is, ..i never admited it out loud but i always thought kristo was a SHRIMP out there and thought hed get mauled at the pro level, and i never liked what i heard about everything off ice, i always FORCED myself to love him, a youtube video of 5 mins of nothing but his highlights and goals can turn anyone into crosby

welcome to the habs CHristian, maybe a bit smaller than kristo supposedly but im sick of people acting like 5"9 will never get you into the NHL, and he sure as hell wont be playing for the habs WITH our 5"7ers, i suspect a couple will be gone by then.

...if you wanted to ship out Kristo, why wouldn't you put him in a package deal and get some actual bang for your buck. Disappointed in this trade. Not because i was really keen on Kristo, but because i feel like we could have managed that asset better.
