WSH puts Jeff Schultz on unconditional ($100) waivers for purposes of buyout. Ditto for NYI and Rick DiPietro.

Nashville didn't qualify Blum. What the heck? Talk about too much defensive depth...

NHL Network will now officially join TSN's Free Agent Frenzy coverage at Noon, instead of 2 p.m. ET on Friday. Good work, everyone.

Benn Ferriero doesn't get a qualifying offer from the Wild after they traded for him on Sunday. He was just a contract for NY to dump.

Benn Ferriero reminds me of my freshman year on the swim-team. Too good for JV but not good enough for varsity.

Lecavalier: "I'm tired of playing on an offense-first team with a weak blue line and shaky goaltending. So I am signing with the Flyers."

The Coyotes are like one of those un-funny SNL skits that is drawn out way too long and after a while gets uncomfortable to watch and you just want it to end and go to commercial ...

Oh boy, more awards voting. NHL names the end of year all-star teams and Ovechkin makes the first AND second team as both a RW and LW. Oy.

The voting system for awards needs to drastically change, or all of these accomplishments will soon start to mean nothing.

Not sure if this was posted elsewhere:

Kings' Jarret Stoll rushed to the hospital after suffering seizure

Kings center Jarret Stoll was rushed to the hospital early Wednesday morning, having suffered a seizure in his Hermosa Beach home, according to Kings General Manager Dean Lombardi.

Lombardi said that a battery of tests was run on Stoll and that it was expected he would be released later in the day. He said Stoll was taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance and Lombardi visited him there later Wednesday morning.

“Everything is OK. They’ve run some tests and they still had another one to run,” Lombardi told The Times. “The bottom line is that he’s fine. Now the issue is what caused it.

“There are a myriad of things that can cause them.”

Hope it gets well and hope it's not related to the hit from Torres

Agreed, very scary. I'm sure Torres is not feeling good about this being they are friends.

Multiple concussions will do serious damage to your brain. Hard for me to imagine these seizures aren't related.

Shanahan is going to throw Torres into a woodchipper if he ever does anything questionable again.

Ah man. That sucks about Stoll. Never a good thing.

That Torres suspension still pisses me off though. I am glad DW stood up for Torres the way he did. Not that it matters. One questionable hit from Torres and he will probably get suspended again.

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger 24s

Huge trade in the works. Boston and Dallas close on a deal sending Tyler Seguin to Stars for Loui Eriksson. Other parts involved as well.

I can't believe Chiarelli would be willing to move Seguin, regardless of Tyler being a C playing W.
