So should everyone else. He has 109 points in 108 playoff games. I'd take that production from a "midget" over "big man" Pacioretty any second.

He likely won't be. Unless he doesn't mind a short term deal so he could replace Ryder? 2 years max.

I'd much prefer Clarkson to further solidify our bottom 6.

Briere right now is older and has had lower production than Vinny the last two years. I think he would be glad to play here. I would rather go after someone else though.

If we sign Brière, we have to get rid of the captain...

I think he would take a short-term deal. Not many options. Briere is 3 years older than Vinny. And he has declined. Fewer teams will be willing to sign him long-term.

But we have other needs. I would rather go after a guy like Horton. Or a Dman.

After that vinny fiasco, going for briere is an insult for the fans.

I don't want Briere. It's like going after Quebecers for the sake of going after Quebecers.

Wouldn't mind a cheap deal on the "short" term (3 years or less), but it better be because we have a plan to deal one of our smallish players beforehand.

Meh. VL was a much much better fit. Briere is a decent player but I'd rather stick to the internal development at this point unless it solves a need.

Briere will screw us again by signing a contract with us.
