Those are not storms, infact there is not a cloud in the sky there
what ur seeing is just ground clutter
because of the surface heat raising and showing up as intense echos.

What, exactly, is the significance of a high dewpoint?

It plays a role in increasing the weather CAPE; which in the end provides more energy in the atmosphere for Severe Thunderstorms.

Rotating power outages now in effect. We are responding to a directive from AESO to reduce power consumption in #YEG http://******/mBxPx

This is going to be bad.

Am I understanding this properly
They are randomly cutting power to reduce demand?

Or since the widespread advent of residential air conditioning in a temperate climate that shouldn't require it.

Not sure why everybody should suffer the effects of the drain that AC puts on the system.

Note I wouldn't be arguing this in a climate where AC is arguably more required than preferred.

How about just telling people to cool it a bit with the AC. Excuse the pun. I tend to note people going overkill with these sytems and neighbors that seemingly have their AC units pumping nonstop while having open windows...

Millwoods, Clairview, Boyle St., McCauley, Alberta Avenue, no power for you.

Terwilliger and Glenora need more juice for the central air conditioning.

Is it bad that I kind of want to stay at work instead of going home?

I'll miss you office AC.

Well Alberta doesn't want to keep borrowing almost 700 megawatts of power from BC and Saskatchewan every day. Expect your power rates to go up because of it, or that they already have. EPCOR rates jumped from 7 cents to 10 cents per kWh in July.

Albertans love that AC.
