By Wright declining, it looks like he left on his own terms, rather then getting fired.

So far, it seems like JD/Jarmo will try to make their firings classy. 1)When Howson got fired, they still offered him another job. 2)When they fired(told his contract wasn't gettng re-newed) the European scout, they fired him early on to give him a chance to find another job from another team. They said they didn't want to let him know late in the year when teams filled out their positions. 3)then my theory on the Wright situation.
I like the way you laid that out. Probably true. . .

Keith Acton was a "good ole boy"?

He was here 2 seasons.

Amazing strong some opinions are here about a job performance and interactions nobody here has any clue about.

Suffice to say scouting is a rotten and thankless job you hope gets you a coaching gig someday.

I wondered how long Tyler would be here when Jarmo specifically came aboard.

Always wondered why Tyler was elevated so quickly in the old regime, I mean, the guy was seemingly getting a promotion/ title every 6 or 7 months. I'd expect to see more of these type of moves within the next year, moving out the "learned on the job" guys that have their entire base thanks to this organization and see more "seasoned, heavily experienced in more facets" guys brought in. I'll chime in with what Capn said, I'll expect more shoes to drop (willingly in Tyler's case, or unwillingly in the case of the scouts that were released from their deals almost immediately after Jarmo's hiring) now that we have men more capable of evaluating their staffs without outside help.

I don't blame Tyler if he was offered a lesser role/title and chose not to accept it, but it will be interesting to see what he ends up doing next... I doubt he jumps into the league in a similar position he was holding here right off the bat. Any chance he was offered the Color gig on the radio since Bobby Mac is taking over for George Mathews?

GL to Tyler wherever he lands (probably Edmonton)

If it's the one of W. Fifth Ave., they could use some improvement.

And also, where is my Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger?

Didn't know that. It would be interesting to know which ones. Good for him.

We all want the team to do well. We all want to enjoy being a fan. For us it is entertainment.

For them it is their jobs.

I spent 4 years of my life working in IT on week days at an IHRA/NHRA race track, and then working as a race director during events. Most days I miss it greatly. The excitement, most of the racers, being a part of some awesome spectacles that thrilled 40,000+

But it was the job of patrolling the message boards I hated the most. Reading how I should be fired because of a call I had to make to disqualify someone's uncle. Reading how my wife was a ***** because she took the time to double check that a driver's payouts were correct, and it took him longer to get on the road.

I guess that's why I'm always last on the "Fire X" bandwagon. And why I can't rejoice in someone's departure. I no longer have people telling me on a weekly basis that I should be fired, or that I'm the reason they're never coming back, but it also means I'm not longer in a position where people actually care about that.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. That's why these message boards exist. I just know from personal experience what it is like to be on the other side, to do everything you can to provide the best entertainment possible for the fans, and have something beyond your control prevent reality from matching up with what you strived so hard to accomplish.

I wish Tyler Wright all the best in wherever his future path takes him.

I honestly heard from a server at a certain Short North restaurant that both Tyler Wright and of all people, Rimer were the worst of the CBJ personal to deal with when they came in. Apparently Rimer was such an a**hole several other people at the table were taking the server aside and apologizing for him. Nicest guy to wait on was JD (I can totally see that). The whole thing kind of surprised me really. Of course that's all hearsay. Although I did think Wright had kind of a weird attitude in the footage when he was talking to Seth Jones in that draft video a couple weeks ago. He just seemed very dismissive, something like "Look you probably won't be there when our pick is up....(Wright interrupts) "If you're there at 14 we'll have you on the team" ..........definitely not a professional way to speak to a potential number 1 draft pick. (Paraphrasing of course)

Maybe Rimer said the wrong name when ordering and was upset he didn't get what he wanted.

Wright always struck me as an east-west kind of guy. Time to bring someone in who will move north ...can't go south. The bricks and are laid and its time to bring in the cranes and ladders. Hire mark hartigan.

We must go forward, not backward. Upward, not forward. And always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom.

That is exactly what I thought of too.

We are merely exchanging long protein strings. If you can think of a simpler way, I'd like to hear it.
