I believe Danny B resides in Haddonfield or Vorhees which is a little over an hour away from the Pru. Either way, it'd be a hell of a commute if he keeps the house

Briere is a nice player and great dude. He'll fit in nicely wherever. I predict NJ

Briere to New Jersey makes a lot of sense.

Starved for offense, Lou loves veterans, Briere has produced against New Jersey in the past, can play any F position, family is close...

Montreal needs more size and grit.

Maybe if we got rid of Gionta and got Briere.. but seems pretty lateral to me unless Briere is coming in cheaper....

Come on, it's a match made in heaven! Come home and mentor Pageau. Thanks in advance!

Right so that makes it even a bit easier to get to them. Assuming he lives near Voorhees, NJ that's 90 minutes from Newark. If he gets a condo 30 mins south of Newark, then he's only an hour away.

If he's serious about keeping his kids where they are and still seeing them, then NJ is where he should go. I'd love to have Danny here (in part to troll my Flyers fan girlfriend who loved him in 2010) for the right price. The thing is, he always seems to score goals around the net and our system is very perimeter, where as Philly's is very "guys will be constantly cutting to the net. Just throw the puck there repeatedly". He scored a lot of goals camping out on the far post. Can't remember the last Devils goal that looked like that

Briere has already said his kids living arrangements will not hinder his choice whatsoever.

NJ and LI make the most sense. He gets to stay near his family and both teams have about the same chance at making the playoffs. Hopefully he can be sold on playing with Tavares, because we need a veteran who can play to line up with him, enough of this Brad Boyes ********.

I really hope we get him on a two year deal. Strome can learn a lot from him and Briere would be a very solid fit on JT's wing.

Poile name-dropped Briere in his pre-FA press conference yesterday. I'm not sure it's the best option for us, but if he gets a bug in his bonnet about a player, he tends to fixate.

Hopefully he signs in Nashville. Even though Poile wants the team to get bigger, it always helps to bring in relatively big names as it draws more interest from others.

Screw that. I don't want to see him in Montreal.

Hopefully he signs a 4-5 year deal in Montreal. That would be great.

New Jersey and Long Island make the most sense here. Dont want him in Montreal and dont see why Bergevin would want him either.

I think he would jump on the oppurtunity to play with a young emerging team and John Tavares.

Moulson - Tavares - Briere
Bailey - Nielsen - Okposo
Grabner - Nelson - Clutterbuck
Martin - Cizikas - McDonald

Very good forward roster.

As a father of a 5 & 2 year old, I cannot imagine not seeing them every day let alone having to live far away from them. Again, without really know much about his situation I would have a hard time believing the decision not to be traded would be financially driven given the amount of money he's already banked in his career vs. wanting to be around for your kids.

Would love to see him come to NJ & they could really use him in their top 6, especially with Clarkson all but gone. I'm sure Lou will make a competitive offer and has said he would try to rebuild the offense through free agency. Fortunately for Briere if staying near his kids is a priority he could still probably live within an hours drive of Philly while still being only 30-45 minutes from Newark.

He has joint custody of his kids.

His ex-wife likes where she is living. Unsure how open she would be on moving.

There relationship started in Buffalo so she likely would be open to move back to Buffalo.

If she wasnt going to move he would likely pick a place that is a short flight back home to be with the kids on off days.

Going to Canada while his ex and kids stay in the USA is a utter nightmare with various rules and restrictions on bringing kids for divorced couples across borders. Usually terms of a divorce restrict cross border crossing.

There is no law that restricts his kids from visiting his grandparents and family here. As long as the paperwork is in order, you're good to go. I know plenty of people who are allowed to bring their children home for the holidays! lol

Devils are among Briere's finalists, same source says.

Source indicates that #Isles are not among final teams for Danny Briere.

Those are probably the 2 most likely destinations if you asked me a week ago, so the Devils it is(unless the Rangers make a play for him)

I think all us Habs fans can agree that we don't want him on the team
I was hoping he'd go with the Isles but failing that, a surprise signing to Buffalo would be welcome news
