Apparently Horton's wife wants to move back to a warmer climate. Basically, any of Anaheim, Los Angeles, Dallas, Phoenix (or, ahem, Arizona), Nashville, Tampa or Florida would fit the bill. Maybe even Carolina. I haven't looked at cap situations for those teams. I think LA would have trouble fitting him in. Anaheim is a budget team, but they might have the space. Dallas has a good shot. He could want to return to Florida.

OMG! What planet are you people living on? None of the top FAs are interested in coming here. We've been told no by several already. Poile has pissed away draft picks on now useless assets. We are going to be stuck with paying for Gill and SK. Polie couldn't put a Cup winner together in 20 years in DC. He has failed here. He needs to go as soon as possible along with Trotz. If we are housecleaning how about cleaning out the FO who has gotten us in this position.

I don't totally disagree with everything said here... I think Poile has done a good job of building within, managing the scouts and draft picks an staying fiscally sound but his job at building through trades, keeping our own top players and bringing in top 6 UFA's he has done a poor job (except for one yr).

I think Trotz has done a really good job as a startup and getting more out of players than they thought they could give (except for a small few). I think Trotz biggest issue is that the very top 6 players do not like his style of play so they look more for an offense minded system. Which we do not have.

probably the last 10,000 years or so...

seriously, Nashville's climate is "southern" although not "sub-tropical" like Florida or southern california... we do actually have a winter, though they are usually mild

There are certain people I see on this forum and judging by their posts I don't think they'll be content until the Preds are relocated and the world ends the next day, judging by the way they post. They're so damn pessimistic all the time it's like they want it all to happen.

Id be happy to have him. Others say he'd never fit in for Tortz given that he apparently doesnt like to play defense but the truth is Trotz allwed Sully, kariya and Dumont to be lax on defense at times, mainly because they could put up the goals to justify it.

Trotz definitely tries to make young players that he gets early on learn to play a two way game, but he has proven can coach players like Briere, too.

I agree with the above. Trotz allows vets to have very long leashes compared to players 25 and younger.

As for free agents, I wouldn't get too hyped up. It sounds like we are punting for next year, which isn't a bad idea after all. Right now we don't have the assets to compete and UFA has always been a difficult time for our franchise for the most part.

I am, however, slightly amused at how a couple of weeks ago people were all about "Horton's more of the same! Not a scorer!" Now that he is rumored to be interested in a warm climate all the sudden "YESSSSS COME HERE HORTON!" Amusing...

Boy our fanbase is salty right now. We are very divided by the direction we want this team to go. Personally, I think we should punt this year. Stay the status quo except trade Ellis for a forward prospect of equal value. Stink/let player develop. Draft McDavid. Win Cup in a couple years. Just my 2 cents though.

the new owners and management team have worked hard to stimulate interest ing the preds. I dont think this fanbase would tolerate a full 82 game season of "lottery pick" hockey. We need to at least be competitve for a playoff spot even if we end up missing.

Lol

Mild because you live there and it is mild to you, not to people who is seeking for warmer climate.

Real warmer climate like Florida, Arizona or California.

San Jose and Nashville are actually very similar climates,

Florida, I will give you as they only have 2 seasons, 70 and 90.

And Phoenix isn't a warmer climate, it's the desert.

Horton would fit, but he's already had multiple concussions (two within the last 2 years) and two major shoulder injuries.

This guy might be Lombardi part two.

He's not in those cities though, he's in Boston. And for the record, there's a lot of people here that moved from New England because of the weather.

Going by your criteria of what is a warmer climate, only LA, Anaheim, Florida, Tampa or Phoenix qualify.

Dallas would be boarderline at they actually change seasons too.
