Souray one of the NHL 3 stars of the week

I think this deserves it's own thread. We make threads when he's playing bad but this week I think this nomination is well deserved. Anyway he's up to a much better start then last year. Lets just hope the good continues to outway the bad as some have put it.

9 points while being -4 and the habs have 22 goals against!

So Souray was there on the ice for 13 of the 22 goals allowed, almost 60% of them!

Goals in PP and SH are not accounted for the +/- . Actually, he was on the ice for four goals out of the 16 against the habs in even strength. It is not 60 %, it's in fact 25 %. Huge difference

Goals in SH are, pretty sure of that.

Anyway, congrats! As long as I don't see him against Afinogenov

Yeah, you're right Malakhov. +/- is everything. Let's get rid of this floater!

I'm just exagerating the situation here, but Souray is getting more praise than he deserves. While he is very productive offensively, quite a few times defensively he has left me shaking my head in disbelief after a play.

I agree that he's far from the best defensively, but you have to give the right numbers ! It is not 60 %, I repeat it is 25 % !

+/- can give an indication about a player but it's more of a "team stat" than anything else.
You should be shaking your head more at the fact that he doesn't even understand +/- yet he's using it to prove his point.

He had a big offensive week with a bunch of stars... good for him.
Just play better defensively. Please.

are you serious ? is your name Jacques Dermers ? .. Power Play are N O T in the +/- rating ..

Short Handed Goal ARE in the +/- rating (when you're in PP)
I don't know if souray was on the ice for our 3 SHG .. if not :
Souray : 9 Points -> 8 PP points .. so 1 EVENSTRENGHT point.

Montreal : 22 Goals Againts : 0 SHG againts (when they were on PP)
4 PP Goal Againts .. so 18 of the 22 goals were EVEN

sheldon souray is -4 rating .. he was on the ice on 1 EV goal. so he's +1 ..

he was on the ici for 5 opposing teams goals ..

5 on 18 = 28 %

Do your math dude.... that kind of post suck .. how about searching before writing some bullsh*t

Souray was on the ice for 2 of our 3 SHG .. so he's + 3

he was on the ice for 7 of 18 goals .. 39%

I think you still have alot to learn about hockey my friend....and you should not learn it from the RDS talk backs.
Powerplay points dont count as a +.
