yes i would rather have a 25-30 goal scorer(who by the way is our captain) who plays 100x bigger than briere, for this season at least.
and a soft player like briere wouldnt be able to produce the same way in MTL due to our lack of size/grit

also briere had a chance to play for us before and he past up on it

no, they aren't.

The real question is "Why people want Hendricks?".

In no way is Gionta still a 30 goal scorer. I can's even receive a pass it seems. Yes he does play bigger than his size. So what? It gets him injured. He ain't a kid anymore. And I don't care if he is our captain to be honest. It doesn't give him immunity.

he was on pace to score 25-30 goals last season.. this is going to be his last season with MTL and for the time being i'd rather have him over briere.
were looking to get rid of our small players, not add more of them. especially not 36 year old midgets who'll take minutes away from our more talented young players

I'd take a chance on clowe. it was only 2 years ago that he scored 24 goals...and he's still just 30....lots of fight in that newfie too.

Do not post sources that are junk sources especially when those sources especially when they contain potentially libelous claims about players

Thank You!

This is crazy. David Perron is on Montreal radio talking about how he would love to be traded to Montreal, how he would love to play here.
Yes Perron said this over and over, he's one of the few Quebecers who admited to it and made it so clear, his dream destination is the Habs.

You know if the Habs could only get him in a trade, I wouldn't mind if he was our only big aquisiation of the summer, I would be happy. Better than nothing.

At this point, I'd rather wait and give the ice time to young guys. We had a great run last year but I am not sold yet. If we are playing well come the trade deadline, get a rental. If not, I'd try to see what I can get for Markov.

I just don't want to sign players that in 2-3-4 years will be dragging us the same way Gionta/Moen/DD are atm.

So, look for a good 4th line center and wait to see where you are at the trade deadline is what I would do.

If that is the expected rejuvenation we'd get from Komi we might as well buy a Snow Cone machine and just leave it lying randomly on the ice.

He's good. I'm just saying people dream of power forwards since the Habs are small. But when you can add a Perron you do it.

Chiasson would be a perfect fit in Montreal. 6'3 young winger with goal scoring touch. Dallas is looking for a centerman. We have a few of those here. Chiasson + prospect vs DD?

yah...top of my list is definitely that big nasty fighting scoring PF,,,but david perron has sick hands and could potentially be a buy low acquisition with his recent injury....kind of lower numbers than usual and the fact that st'louis is probabley gonna have to make some room for upcoming RFA's....i'd love to ship desharnais off to them.

Would do it in a second. Don't even think Dallas picks up the phone.

difference in salary between DD and Perron is less than 500K...

I love this too, but the loss of Plek would hurt short term. Also, i doubt Nill would part with Dillon because without him the Stars D-squad looks tiny...

Mcloed or Nystrom would be nice 4th line complement to prust... Nystrom more of a preference given that we don't have to move any assets for him.

another guy I'd take a look at, if the salary/term he's looking for is small, would be
P-M Bouchard.

Guy had some terrible injury luck, and was so-so in his first healthy year back last season... if he stays healthy this year he could be a real low-cost/high-reward player for someone

recall that it wasn't long ago that Bergeron was a "don't touch with a ten-foot pole" given his 2 serious concussions.

With good recovery, and enough time to fully bounce back, guys can & do get back to a positive progression. Bouchard got some serious talent, and while he's not an ideal fit, like Perron, he's a skilled enough that the addition would make a lot of sense.

Perron is injury prone but a fantastic player that I would be thrilled to have on this team.

I like it except change the Dallas trade to:

DD + Diaz for Fraser and Chiasson

yea that would be much more optimal but i dont DD has that much trade value tbh. w/e it takes to get fraser + chiasson at minimal cost (if we move plek we might end up with a top 5 pick from DAL)
having DD + 2 big wingers might work wonders too

we can have galchenyuk play as our 3C on an offensive line for the time being (assuming we do the plek trade, if not we would have much more flexibility w/ galchenyuk)

Douglas Murray and David Clarkson are two players I think fits into MB's character views. Both big and tough players that can play in the playoffs. We need some character on defense with Emelin out until December.
