I would not give our first for the next year. It will be very valuable.

Because we will stink again? I agree

Wilson Legwand Seguin
Forsberg Fisher Hornqvist
Borque FREE AGENT Beck/Watson
Clune Goose Spaling

Josi Weber
Ference Klein
Jones Ekholm/Bartley

While not winning us games, that looks better than what we got now.

thats crazy. Kessel was better than Seguin and only got 3 picks no players.

If we are going to go that route and take on that contract I would offer Ellis + one of Beck/Watson/Bourque + next years 2nd

No way Boston moves him for that amount. Remember, Kessel was an RFA not under contract.

The minimum boston would be looking for is Smith+Ellis+1st or Wilson+2nd

The fact that Seguin's own GM called him out with respect to him needed to be more of a pro says a lot and scares me away from Seguin. For him to call him out in the media means they have no doubt tried to handle it internally and they still have not got through to him. One has to question his dedication level as a pro hockey player.

IMO Boston can keep him unless the Preds don't give up much. From what I have read and what others have said, Boston doesn't have much control over him. As a result, I don't want him unless it is for a cheap price.

sorry Forsberg is the cornerstone of our future offense.

I would do Beck/Bourque instead of Forsberg. Ellis and Jarvinen are fine.

With his issues and cap hit, I don't think his value is as high as some think.

agreed. if they are dumping him for cap relief and if the work ethic issues are true, there wont be many takers unless its a bargain

In "braindead's rules to life" rule #19 is: Never trust a guy that tattoos his own name on his arm.

However, rule #316 is: Bible study with Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood could turn even Aaron Hernandez into a model citizen.

When rules conflict, rule 615 says to always go with the higher numbered rule. Therefore, I support this offer as a great starting point.

Bruins fan coming in peace

Would you guys be willing to give up Forsberg+ in a deal? I see a lot of proposals with defensemen, which we don't really have much of a need for. I think Jones would interest the bruins (straight-up) but I'm sure Nashville would decline.

respectfully, not a chance. we just acquired Forsberg solely for the purpose of being the young, dynamic scorer we lack. makes no sense to trade him for a forward, even if its an upgrade right now.

same with Cloin Wilson... he is finally becoming what we drafted him to be, so no point in trading him now

the forwards you could get for Seguin who might be attractive to you would be Beck, Bourque, or Watson

No, and that's why we aren't really in the running. Our only assets we are looking to offer won't interest you and you guys want more then we can offer.

Think about it this way preds fans. Would you give up erat, latta, and say a 2 nd round pick for seguin? If the answer is yes then ff should be in the talks for him. Im not saying we should do it but it is an interesting perspective.

Um no you actually can't look at it that way at all. No way in hell does Boston do that deal if we gave them Erat, Latta and a 2nd rounder. We fleeced Washington because they were desperate to add a veteran scoring forward for the playoffs last season. We got a much better return than what we gave up.

Now if you want to take another aging forward, a scrub AHLer and a 2nd round pick to give to Boston - by all means let's do that deal like now!

Will be interesting to see how the rest of the deal works out. Peverley speculated to be one of the players heading to Dallas.

Is that the same Morrow that everyone thought was such a steal when dallas got him from pittsburgh at the deadline?

Before anybody even tries, no we did not have the pieces to get that deal done. Eriksson has significantly more value than anybody in our org not named Weber, Josi, Jones, or Rinne.
