Not to be a negative Nancy but I would be floored of Connor Garland got a sniff at the draft. Hes just too small.

Garland won't be drafted. His production will be okay but not enough to warrant a pick. When's the last time a 5'6" player was drafted ?

*Pretty sure it was 2011, Rocco Grimaldi . He'd be well over a ppg player in major junior and a much more explosive and complete player than Garland.

28 kids from the Q got drafted this year, in what most people involved with the league will say is one of the most talented pools the Q has ever had. 6 first rounders, which is above average, a couple of kids in their 2nd year of draft eligibility (Girard, Andrighetto) which is also not a normal thing to have happen. It happens, i'm just pointing out that most players get drafted in their first year of eligibility, especially now the draft is only 7 rounds, teams will generally rather extend invites to camps instead of drafting 19yr olds.

I would expect most years have approx. 20 kids drafted from the Q. The first post on this thread has 52 names. Many names on there wont even be playing in the Q this year, as they wont be able to make their respective teams. It is way to early to predict which players get drafted or have a better than average chance at getting drafted.

I agree with Raimu - I would be shocked if Garland gets drafted. He's not 5'9", he's listed at 5'6", and i met him recently. He's literally 5'6", and not much more. With sick skill you can get drafted at that size, while Garland is as competitive as they get, i dont think he has that skill level. Perhaps some team will feel he does, but i dont.

Antoine Landry (G) - Saint John (wont' make the Q)
*Alex Mann (D) - Moncton
*Brendan Nickerson (D) - Cape Breton (will he make it? doubt it..)
*Nicholas Quillan (D) - Rimouski (will he make it? if he reports)
*Tanner McCabe (D) - Moncton (didnt crack the Q, or Junior A last season)
*Kyle Tibbo (F) - Rouyn-Noranda (really?)
*Liam Hynes (F) - Cape Breton
*Morgan Messenger (F) - Charlottetown (NHL drafted next year...really?)
*Jonny Erbs ( F) - Saint John (no)
*Josh Pugsley (F) - Rouyn- Noranda (really?)

exactly....Cammarata was a point per game in the USHL at 16, and 90+ pts in 60games at 17. Do you really think Garland is at that level?

we will see..when he was given 2nd line minutes he was over a ppg player, maybe he grows over the summer i don't think he's a high pick but he is a kid who should get picked out of the Q

31 kids were drafted from the q yesterday actually.

Why do people keep saying Pugsley and Hynes are not Moncton prospects? They haven't been traded and its likely both make this years team. Also I'm not even sure Mann will show up to Moncton this year since he seems set on the college route but things can change.

Also McCabe did play junior A last year and so did Pugsley

Quillan won't report to Rimouski, at least for another year.

I'd bet my right arm he won't be a ppg player this year. He's not at the level this 5'6 NHL draftee Grimaldi are at. Not even close. Time will tell and you will see.

Cammarata is 5'7.5. Talk about not knowing your stuff! See, you'd know that if you looked beyond statistics. The difference between me and you is that I look at more than a computer screen and stats. Get out there and acutally watch the players before you make comments about them.

you will be eating your words.. i guarantee that, you obviously have something against Garland all i say is that when he got minutes he produced you can't argue that, so what will be different?

Not a bit. Conor is a great little player. I think he'll be a good/star major junior player for Moncton and likely be a five year player. Unfortunately for him scouts consider size because they're projecting him the next level and how he'll fair against 6'5" , 225 lbs men. He was getting thrown around all last season by average sized kids. Guys like Grimaldi who are extremely explosive, strong and fantastic skaters still have the odds against them. Very rarely will you see a 5'6 player get drafted. When they do they're elite talents and even then ,seldom do they make it. I wish him all the best but try to be realistic when posting.

McCabe left junior A because he couldnt regularly get in the line up. played the 2nd half midget AAA, and i believe he only played 12-13 games of junior A.

I agree that Garland is probably too small to get drafted but he's very entertaining to watch. Similar situation years ago with Bruno Lemire. Way too small but entertaining and productive nonetheless.

McCabe left the Summerside Capitals, who IMO would've been better than a few of the lesser Q teams, like Cape Breton for example, because he wasn't developing the way head coach Bill McGuigan thought he would. That is my understanding, so they sent him back to midget. At christmas time, McCabe joined the Miramichi Timberwolves which I didn't even know was possible, considering he's 16 and as far as I know is an Island native. I can definitely see where you got mixed up in that respect though, but I don't think many 16 year old d-men would've cracked the Caps roster with the d-core they had. I'm not positive but I believe there may have been as many as 4 or 5 20 year olds playing defense by the end of the year. However IMO McCabe isn't an NHL prospect at this point. Maybe if he improves his footwork and hockey sense, and starts to drop the mitts a lot (I believe he had 3 or 4 fights with the TWolves) then a team may consider taking a late round flyer on him, just because of his size. Also the fact that he has two years in the Q before his draft year may help him if he develops a lot, but at this point, he isn't an NHL prospect

The way I heard that story is that McCabe left the team after not liking his ice time. He went back to AAA for his development , to play big minutes that he wasn't getting on a stacked Charlottown squad. The opportunity arose after Christmas to join Miramichi who had more ice time for him. That's the story that was in the T&T. He opted to leave so he'd get more ice time in AAA. I'll for the link..

Big omission IMO - Ryan Falkenham. Already as good or better than most of the guys listed, with more ice to eatablish his offensive game could easily see him being an NHL draft pick.

I know you're looking for games to attend to (you will see Ryan every game) but I just noticed he wasn't on this page I believe.
