Celebrate the tie.. Modry SHOOT THE PUCK!!! AAAH! Great play by Carney! Now you look back to that Mighty Duck 2nd Goal. Armstrong hit it down w/ a high stick, got it back w/ no Duck playing it and no whistle blew.

Gotta love the game of keep-away that broke out in the last 5-10 minutes of the third period. (insert the rolley-eye thingy that was taken away here)

I had dreampt of this game six months ago. My dream told me that Frolov would have two goals, one of them the game winner-my dream lied.

Cechmanek played great. He plays the whole game Kings win 4-1. Should've pitched a shut-out. Todd Simpson's goal was a fluke. But it counts.

Wouldn't it be poetic justice if neither team made the playoffs this year.

I thought the game was fun to watch. Would have been nice to see the Ducks come away with 2 points, but a good game nonetheless.

That's saying something, because the way the Ducks have played in a lot of games especially between maybe 5-15 games ago, it was pretty unwatchable. Out of sync, lacking passion. Now at least the Ducks battle and work hard. Not sure what that is attributable to.

Palffy is the kind of player that when he's on the other team, you just don't want him to have the puck. He's dangerous everytime he's on the ice. I thought he was the best player on the ice for the Kings, while Fedorov was the best player on the Ducks tonite.

Chechmanek looked shaky at first, but made some big saves towards the end. Giguere looked good and confident at times. But then on the Chartrand goal he didn't make the stop. Chartrand had a wide open net. You can fault the defense for leaving him wide open. But, damn, when Jigger's really on he makes that save.

Armstrong is impressive for the Kings. Especially for a guy who I thought would be a career minor leaguer. The Ducks have an answer with Andy McDonald. I thought the same from him when he first came out of college. Undrafted I think. But now, he's got some pretty good skills.

Good enjoyable game. And yes they are two mediocre teams.

I thought he was invisible. Fedorov made him disappear. And then he disappeared for real.

Did they ever mention what the injury was?

I was at the game tonight, Palffy was pretty silent, but man is Frolov something. I seriously underrated this guy, he is going to be a beast in the NHL in the coming years. He reminds me so much of Bertuzzi (minus the mean streak), when Frolov has the puck it is not taken from him, his strength on the puck is amazing for a 21 year old player, and he has sniper hands too, gonna be really scary to see this guy in 3-4 years. I say a perennial 40 goal, 90 pt player. Maybe more, really the sky is the limit.

For the Ducks I thought that was the best game Vaclav Prospal has played, he has stunk for pretty much the entire 1st half of the season, but he had some jump tonight, great pass on the Ducks 3rd goal.

No such thing in this league. We might not even have a 90-pt scorer this season.

Frolov's a gem, though.

I doubt Frolov will be anything more than a better than average player in the league until one of three things happen.

One, He gets traded to a team that plays him with actual top six talents.

Two, He gets more than 1:13 mins per game average on the PP. (up over the last few games where for the entire start of the season he were under the 40 seconds per game mark)

Three, Andy Murray either has an epiphany or moves on to other coaching challenges.

I love Murray but christs teeth if he doesn't have some unkown hate against Frolov. The kid were our second leading scorer and getting less than 14 mins ATOI until recently. What does the kid have to do to get his shot on the bloody PP? It has been better of late (the last two bloody games) but couple that with the fact that he is playing with what would be fourth liners on allot of teams in the league most nights and that he gets precious little PP time and his actual 5 5 time isn't reflcetive of his scoring skills and I have to wonder why and when lord, whens gonna be his time?

Frustrating to watch a team that is so capable of beating this struggling ducks team play such a bloody poor game. Not meant to be a shot at the ducks, you lot are just not having the season that would represent what you were at the end of the last one. I do see it getting better, just not last night or yet.

We sucked and didn't deserve any points. Off to the barn for me but well to say that this point like a few of them lately, don't make me all too happy.

I thought Frolov was the best player on the ice for the Kings as well. He is just so strong on the puck like Herby said, you can't move him or get him off the puck. I can't wait to see him reach his potential.

Are there any updates on Palffy's injury? Nick Nickson said that Palffy suffered an upper-body injury. LA Daily News says he left the Pond with his arm in a sling! I hope he's okay and just misses a game or two. Kings are in a slump and they don't need anymore injuries... esp, to their most productive player.

I think a large reason why Frolov has been slow to receive ice time is because of the way he practices. I've only seen a couple Kings practices before, but he always looked loopy and slow and going thru the motions in practice. I don't know if that's how he is or if I caught him on a bad day or if I just caught the tail end of practice. But Andy Murray is the type of coach that will reward ice time with how an individual practices. And if he sees that Frolov is not working hard in practice, he's not going to reward him with ice time irregardless of how productive he might be in his limited game minutes he receives.

Just some thoughts.

the intensity level of this LA/OC rivalry may be high for this town, but it pales in comparison to others.

So you lived in New York, Boston, Detroit, Colorado, and Chicago?

I visited New York once, for a week, when I was 8.

Man, I could feel the Rangers-Islanders hatred sizzling in the air.
