one thing our goalies lack

puck handling skills!

is it just me or do they always seem to fumble around when they leave the net to handle the puck

don't get me wrong, in now way do i misss theo, but he always had good puckhandling skills which i think we never realised how important it was.

Hold the phone. Were you watching the same puckhandling Theo that I was? He's always been an extremely awkward and hesitant puck-handler. I mean, granted, Huet is an atrocious puckhandler, but Aebischer is certainly at least as good as Theo was, which admittedly isn't saying much.

I mean, a puckhandling goalie is a nice luxury, and I look forward to having Price's ability to do so, but really, I worry about the goalie stopping pucks on net before I do handling them on ice.

If I had a dollar for every time Theo came to play the puck and ended up giving a tape to tape pass to the other teams forward, I'd have enough cash to buy Theo'sold house after we sent his arse packing to the mountains.

Aebi is one of the best puck handling goalies around. Always been his strength actually.

They are walking on egg shells at times in Montreal expecially seeing how quick the fans turned on Theo. It will probably take a season or 2 before they feel safe..LOL

Especially last season. Theodore is by far one of the worst puck handlers I've ever seen. Always onto the stick of an opposing teams forwards.

Well I don't think abby was horrible at puck handling but the defence often seemed confused as to what he was doing with the puck

huet is absolutely brutal with the puck, i cringe everytime he gets out of the net.

as much as everyone hates theo and remember all his faults, theo of old when he had self confidence was great at handling the puck, he was able to shoot the puck up to the defenceman and he was able to get an empty net goal (no easy feat)

I do not want theo back, but I do wish that our goalie A could play the puck and Goalie B could play the puck to the D without creating a large amount of confusion

Better confusion then the puck being guaranteed in the hands of the other teams forwards. Sorry but Theo was never exactly great at playing the puck, even when he was confident. We shud've kept Garon...

Theo is the worse goalie puckhandler in the league. Ive never seen a goalie that was so bad that he had to shoot with his backhand (he scored with it too lol)

The funny thing is that Komisarek actually bought his house.

It was Samsonov I think. Panties are comfortable anyway.

That's a bit of an exaggeration, but Aebi is pretty good. Huet on the other hand.. well let's just leave it that Aebi is pretty good. My mother told me not to say.....

Also, what help is Carey Price in the next two to three seasons? Likely none.

Carbo, fix the goaltender problem now !!

Did everyone see the look on Huet's face after the third goal by Sabs, the look off, i'm not sharp, i don't play enough. G dame-it, we pay Huet to be our #1 starter, play him as #1.
Personally, I think a two goalie system is not the way to go. It's not good for the goalies and not good for the team in general. I think Abby should be spotted in his starts for now, we owe Huet at least that much, if he fails, so be it.
If Abby plays good and a deal should come along, let him go.(Philly maybe)
Huet and Dennis can hold the fort till price comes along.

Ps

The difference between the hab & the sabs is the foot speed of the buffalo defence, they can jump into the play much faster than our D. Buffalo is the perfect fit for the new nhl

I posted this yesterday, concerning what would happen if we lost...

It will be hell. It happens every year and it's just horrible. You will see a guy named 'clvms' or something post a couple of threads bashing everybody (if he's not already banned) and you'll see a myriad of guys with 10 posts or so coming out of the closet singing how we Habs suck and always will.

lol I saw this thread, and immediately thought of your post (it was in reply to one of mine). Very accurate prediction. Someone raunch up the thread so it gets closed.

The goaltender problem is fixing itself.

Aebi is playing better than Huet, so Aebi will begin to get more starts if he keeps it up...

Carbo made that clear at the beginning of the year. Both will get a chance to be #1, the better goalie will get more starts. Clearly Aebi is in the lead right now and will begin to get more starts soon... IMO, Aebi should of started tonight since it was a huge game
