Plain & simple ....

.... play Hemsky more!! If he was in Atlanta he'd have 35-40 points by now.

It's not really that simple, the guys who are playing better than him should be getting more icetime than he is.

In Atl Heatley and Kovy are head and shoulders above their teammates and most other players in the league for that matter, Hemsky isn't in the same boat.

The only forward playing better than him right now, IMO, is York. Smyth has been over rated his entire career and is playing like cr*p ... all the other forwards are 3rd line forwards at best ... so why not play him more?

Kovalchuk is playing a ton .... defensive liability or not - he's out there all the time ... that's how good young players become great.

There's no one that is heads and shoulders above anyone else on this team - so you might as well play the kids that have the most upside potential - rather than wasting ice time on all the 3rd & 4th line players -not mentioning names, but there are about 9 of them on the Oilers.

It's hilarious how the Oilers run their team - they sign a guy like Ulanov, who the other 29 teams could of had at any time during this season, and then all of a sudden he becomes their # 1 pp defenseman. They've always run like this - they call a guy up from the minors and he's a 1st liner for 3 or 4 games, then he's back down to the minors, then they pull a guy out of the press box, and he's on the first line, then the next game he's on the 4th line, and so on and so on. It's frustrating to watch!!

. The only forwards playing better than Hemskey are, well, almost every forward is playing better than Hemskey. He's a great player but he's plaing like crap. He needs some PB time to refocus.

Smyth and Oates might as well join him.

You can have only 2 forwards in the press box. Unless you carry 6 defenseman on your active roster. And that would be just plain dumb.

Dvorak has been far better than Ales has, Torres has been better than he has as well. Smyth has been baggage for the most part this season, you're right about that.

Hemsky moreso than any other player on this team is only effective with the puck, when he doesn't have a good posession game he isn't worth having in the lineup. I'd like to see him get the notion that if he doesn't play well and work his butt off that he will miss games.

I really wish you got to watch games live Oil'say, because you wouldn't be making that last statement.
