I have Greek roots. I suggest plates and other cutlery. Much more fun.

Trade.

If we had of signed Gomez to that deal, I'd be happier. We'd still have McDonagh.

You and me both.

I'm trying to make sense of this, and if it's anything more than 1-year dance/stopgap, I'm having serious trouble.

Right? We're just getting smaller right now.

I'm not size obsessed by any means, but we really do need it.

Strong underrating Briere in here. DO NOT WANT longterm. But you remember when Bergy said there are players who get you to the playoffs and others that get you throught the playoffs? Briere is the latter, and I am definitely fine with getting him for 1-2 years. Plus the guy is great with younger teammates.

This may not be a popular post, but if this happens I would have to assume Bergevin is giving in to the pressure of adding a Quebecois for the sake of adding a Quebecois..

This makes absolutely no sense. He's not a fit, especially at 4 ****ing million per season, even if it's only 2-3 years. Screw that.

Vinny made sense for what this team needs, Briere? Absolutely not.

Briere's playoff heroics myth has been disproven in the first iteration of this thread. It needs to stop being repeated.

Unless of course it's a one year deal, then I won't be too upset.

And just when I thought Nashville with zero offense was the natural fit for a small forward like Brière, newly bought-out Grabovski drops into the mix...

James Mirtle ‏@mirtle 3m
I know Nashville has been interested in Grabovski in the past. Could be a fit there.

He had 13 points last year in 47 games and still has 2 years left on his contract...

The good news for Habs management if Briere signs is that suddenly hotel accomodations for our top nine become significantly cheaper...

The great thing about bridges here is that sometimes you don't even have to jump.

I don't mind Briere for 1 or 2 years but I hope that the team will deal at least one of DD, Pleky or Gio in exchange of a big forward.

3 things:

1. Habs would have to actually make the playoffs in a much tougher playoff format + long season

2. Briere would have to somehow not get injured.

4. Briere would have to not regress.
