Is it really THAT hard to go to NHL.com, look at splits, and see that Grabovski primarily scores at ES?

Sather's MO is bridge contracts anyway. The only one I remember having a long-term deal on their 2nd contract is Staal.

I'd be ecstatic if this turns out to be true

When has Grabovski played LW? I think he's been a center his whole career.

Leftwinglock says he played RW:

And I personally wouldn't sign Grabo to play LW when he is a +50% faceoff man that has vision to play the centerman position. Permanent 3rd line C.

dont really have any interest in signing grabovski when his former team with a lot of cap space would rather not have him on the team.

he had 16 points last year in like 48 games. i dont see where he would play. he wasnt producing offensively last season and would be our 4th best C offensively and isnt as good as boyle is in his own end. if we are signing a player to play wing then sign a winger and one that isnt going to be overpaid and played out of position.

He's usually around 50+ points and Richards will be gone next year so he could be the 3rd c going forward

so we are signing a C longterm now who is coming off a 16 point season and was bought out by the leafs who have pretty ****** C situation? stepan/brassard/lindberg/miller are our most likely long term C depth.

It's cool, next deadline we'll just ship Nash off to Anaheim for Fowler, Beleskey, and Cogliano

Yes. Carlyle is a ******* idiot and didn't like Grabovski for some reason and basically burried him in the lineup even though he has consistently been one of the better players for Toronto and took on a ton of hard minutes and produced offensively at the same time. The Leafs buying him out is an indication that they're dumb, not that Grabovski is a bad player

Grabovsky is a malcontent. The guy just cursed out his ex coach, he's been arrested for assault, and had trouble with people on his national team.

This is not libel, these are all facts.

You don't want a guy like that around.

He probably just lost a lot of money after the comments he made.

Pass.

Can the Rangers get their own players re-signed before spending money the Rangers don't have on big name free agents?

Quote:
There is talk, for instance, that Ryane Clowe, a player in whom the Canucks have long had interest, is fielding offers of five years for close to $5 million US per ó this for a guy with a pretty worrisome concussion history who scored three goals last year. Talk about gambling on projected increased productivity.

Please be the Devils. Lou lost out on Briere. MTL gave Briere 2 years and $8M. 35+ contract. Stupid. Clarkson is going to get crazy money.

Grabovski is perfect for the Wings. Datsyuk and Grabovski are best buds. Played together in the KHL during the lockout.

Quote:
Another free-agent option became available for the Detroit Red Wings today, when the Toronto Maple Leafs waived center Mikhail Grabovski for the purposes of buying out his contract.

Grabovski, a creative playmaker and good skater who can play center and the wing, is a close friend of Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk, whom he idolizes. They played on the same line for CSKA Moscow during the NHL lockout this season.

The Red Wings will be seeking a second-line center when free agency begins Friday at noon, if, as expected, they're not able to re-sign Valtteri Filppula.

I don't want this guy on my team.
Grabovski was totally right about calling out Carlyle with his ********. Grabs got screwed over since Carlyle came on as coach for the Leafs and he has a right to be pissed when they're riding Tyler ****ing Bozak who is worse than Grabovski in every way

MDZ for Datsyuk and sign Grabovski for 10m!!!

Rather we sign our guys, kick the tires if there is a clear upgrade available that we can afford take it, otherwise look for a trade if necessary.

McGrattan signed extension with Flames.

Sources confirming David Clarkson met with the Edmonton Oilers today in Edmonton.

Clarkson was in Ottawa yesterday. Bryan Murray wanted to trade for some goal scoring but there is none available.

he'd be our 3rd line C. hes not good defensively and just ripped his former coach who did not play him in a top 6 role. hes going to want a decent sized contract coming off a horrendous year. i dont see any reason why we should be the one's giving him that.

Yep. I'm all for signing the guy to a "show me" type contract if he's game.
