Unfortunately in the 1987 finals, game 7, it was Ilkka "Shoottawidea"

It's great to read about legendary Flyers. Such a great hockey club. Reading about Clarke, Sinisalo etc in the last few days has made me imagine an all-time Flyers fantasy draft like one of those in the History forum. Has anything like that ever been done?

Two nights later, Sinisalo made Flyers history. As a warmup, he recorded his first NHL point, assisting on a Bill Barber power play goal midway through the third period. Then, with the Flyers leading 5-2 at the 16:39 mark of the third period, all eyes were on the kid from Valkeakoski as he skated to center ice to take a penalty shot.

Without showing an ounce of nervousness, the unflappable Finn froze Pittsburgh goaltender Paul Harrison and beat him cleanly for his first NHL goal.
God I can feel the Spectrum rattling my teeth just thinking about it.

I miss that building.

Excellent article, Bill. My favorite goal by Sinisalo was the OT winner against Montreal in Game 1 of the 1987 Conference Finals.
