Why would St.Louis settle for DD when there are a couple of better options on the market for centres?

one year deal, keeping Emelin's seat warm.
then trade one of the extras/pending ufa(s) at the deadline.

in a nutshell, you make a move like this to add a4th/5th rounder for next years draft.

In case they miss out on all of them?

My god. Thats awful. I had no idea Moore lost his wife. But I agree, I'd love to have him back. That goal vs the Caps..

Plekanec in St-Louis, the only player I'd trade him for is : Vladimir Tarasenko. A powerforward with skillz!!!

So, many of you people seem to think that the Habs will stand pat with the team as it is ?
Seriously ?

No, he'd be more likely interested in Bozak, a good defensive player who's an outstanding face-off man.

Not saying the Blues are interested in DD just that he'd be a better fit in their line-up than ours right now.

They'd have to strike out on 6 centres. Also, I'm skeptical whether DD is a Hitchcock player...the same way I wouldn't expect Semin to be a Bergevin type player.

At this point all we can say is that there seems to be a consensus (outside a few posters) they hope Bergevin trades DD.

Sorry I'm late to the party, what's the Plekanec to St-Louis rumor?

Oh boy...

Pierre LeBrun ‏@Real_ESPNLeBrun 52m

Unless something falls in their lap, I don't believe the Habs will be that active today. Briere was their main move

Seeing Bouillon jerk his head around to watch the puck fly into the net every PK because he can't clear the crease for **** was agitating. Seeing our two-dmen either fly toward the puck carrier leaving the weak side fully open OR collapse with their ***** up Price's face with no middle ground was just... infuriating

He's not interested in a culture change, he's not interesting in taking the Habs in a new direction. Small and French is how he likes it.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up as bad as Gainey, because it's been a little over a year and he's been BAD at every major decision-making point except the 2012 draft which was mandated by Gauthier anyway.
Waaaaa waaaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Calm down man, for your own sake.

If this is the team we start the season with, we are not making the playoffs.

Yeah yeah, finished 2nd in the east, whatever. It was a shortened season, we started to fall apart by the end, and were exposed in the playoffs by the 7th seed. Oh well, another good draft pick to add for Bergevin's 5 year master plan...

He's really disappointed me so far. Many more awful moves than good.

Of course they will be quiet on the UFA front, they only have 5 Million.

MB is working on trades and they usually come during the month of July.

Agreed. Last year everything aligned perfectly, then we were exposed in the playoffs.

Not really. We faced a team that played a style that did not advantaged us. Ottawa had the better of us most of the time this year.

We would probably have fared better against the Bruins or Toronto.

Yes. I have little faith in management based on moves so far and hope they prove me wrong but don't expect it.
