I repeat: There is *NO* evidence he had one here with the Sharks. There was no local media mention of even the possibility while he was here. Not one word. I call complete BS on that claim. It's simply not true.

As for the supposed 2 he had with the Rangers, I am in complete agreement with Afrothunder. He didn't have two. He had one, and came back too soon, which caused a major setback. Hardly the first player to get a concussion, try and come back, only to have a major relapse.

Seriously, there is zero proof he had 3 concussions. I wish people would stop claiming it as fact. It's not.

I think they might've broke records with Ponikarovsky-Zubrus-Bernier last season

Surprisingly dominant line possession wise, though.
Had they ever given up a breakaway, it would've been a nightmare scenario, though

Jesse Spector @jessespector
One potential move that would actually be smart would be the Devils letting a too-expensive David Clarkson walk and adding Ryane Clowe.

It's all about good positioning which is why the devils play better than their talent suggests. A well coached team.

Hey, Clowe-Zubrus-Bernier might be a good line at doing the same thing. Hopefully Clowe would be an improvement over Poni, though.

But then we'd need to find a new elite 4th line RW, too.

If we pretend Clowe has already signed... here's the lineup

Henrique-Loktionov-Kovalchuk
Elias-Zajac-?????
Clowe-Josefson-Zubrus
Carter-Gionta-Bernier

Could shift Josefson to wing and do this instead:

Henrique - Loktionov - Kovalchuk
Elias - Zajac - Josefson
Clowe - Zubrus - Bernier
????? - Carter - Gionta

Depends on what else is coming in. Also, remember that we've got Tedenby under a 1-way contract.

Right move for the Devils, I think. Clowe will bounce back. Clarkson will get amnestied.

I have a feeling a surprise european signing maybe given a chance. I'd love for Jagr to be the final signing.

That would certainly further specialize us as a possession team. I wouldn't mind Jagr.

Why is Clarkson going to get $6mil. Just makes no sense to me. Whatever teams signs will be regretting it in two years.

Don't ask us, Devils fans are totally perplexed by this.

Clowe is a better fit as a top 6 forward than Josefson. Clowe can play RW and can actually score points..

Clowe is a LH shot, he's not playing right wing with DeBoer as coach.

Bud Holloway? Hate to loose him from LA but I don't think we will be maintaining his rights. Lokitinov has worked for you guys, I think he would as well.
Hell may as well complete the trifecta and get moller as well.

You would wanna try to get both guys. A line of Clarkson & Clowe would be scary big.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Clowe lures a 5 year term.

Clowe and Stalberg would be great signings by Lou, the puck possession would be out of control lol.

Jeez. 5 years? Wow, whoever is going to give it to him is going to regret.

You could say that about every single FA signing that exceeds a 1 yr term.

With Clowe it's risky, but I'd rather have him than Clarkson especially if we are going to save a couple million in the process. I've never liked Clarkson at all and disliked how the Devils would coddle him with prime offensive opportunities, especially under Deboer recently.

Not every UFA is a power forward on the wrong side of 30 with tons of hard miles on their bodies, had THREE concussions in a very short period of time including 2ian within 2 weeks just over a month ago...

Any team giving him 5 yrs is in desperation mode!
